Does this sound like Pots?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I know no-1 can give me a difinate answer to what im asking, but im wondering if my symptoms sound like POTS.

- Tachycardia , Brachycardia

- Vision Problems ( Eye Floaters )

- Anxiety and Depression

- Tierdness

- Weakness

- Intolerence to certian foods

- Slow / Fast HR upon standing

- Tachycardia when in certian positions

I have many other symptoms that are listed in the diagnosis page too. I noticed one thing, when i get scared i have the opposite effect, my HR will slow down sometimes. I eat healthy, i excersise ( go running ), im fairly active. Ive had this for 3 years and doctors kept putting it down to anxiety. Im having tests via a private specialist shortly, i just need some info.

Baby boy,

I hope you find out what is causing your symptoms soon and something will be done to help them. I'm sure the majority of everyone on here can relate to the physician saying "its" anxiety. Will your testing involve a tilt table test? I wish you the best of luck.

There is a great deal of overlap with the symptoms you listed--yes, some of them fit POTS, but they also fit many other disorders. It's good that you will be seeing a doctor to try to get an accurate diagnosis. You may want to bring you symptom list with you in written form.

Thanx all.

I get 99% of the symptoms listed on the symptoms page. Alot of the time i sit on this **** pc feeling sorry for myself wondering if todays my last day, ive asked myself that question for 3 years nearly.

Im taking regualr excersise, eating properly and taking vitamins and i still get the sympoms.

I wish they would just go.

BB, for some people who have sudden onset of symptoms, particularly following an illness, the symptoms do eventually "just go". For others, the symptoms stay, but may wax and wane. For me, the symptoms are forever; I've had them since I came into the world, and I'll have them to the end...unless some amazing gene therapy comes into the picture.

However, if you have a bonafide dx of POTS, you'll probably live a normal life span... and with proper treatment, that life span could possibly be more comfortable. I hope you find a doctor who will treat you in a manner that works for you.
