bellgirl
How can this be if most of us are deficient in vitamin D3?! Am I misunderstanding this?... I question this study...
Mytwogirlsrox
I thought it said a vitamin defiency could be the cause of OH
Mytwogirlsrox
Subjects with OH had lower serum 25(OH)D compared to controls (mean difference = 20.6 nmol/l, P = 0.0002). Lower vitamin D status was associated with an increased risk of OH vitamin D may play a role in the aetiology of OH.
McBlonde
Interesting! I'm very low in vitamin D3!
Anoj
I wonder what this means for the hyper patient. One doc has been telling me for years that I'm vit D deficient.
bellgirl
I think most of us here are vitamin D3 deficient, like patients with MS...but a lot of the general population is too, evidently, and they just don't know it! Maybe because we have other health issues, it is more prominent a problem with us, and is checked more consistently...sorry, I guess I read it incorrectly. MomtoGiuliana
I agree that Vit D deficiency is probably very common. I know several people diagnosed with it, yet they do not have OI or other health problems.I also think that people who spend much time indoors are going to have this deficiency, and people who are chronically ill are more likely to be getting less sunlight everyday.
