RichGotsPots
I agree with Bren, it's possible my over activity caused my flares. Every time I flare it because of exercise. Flaring leads to deconditioning and staying deconditioned I believe slows recovery...
Chaos
My pots started at the end of 14 weeks of strict bed rest during a complicated pregnancy. I'm 100% positive my pots was brought on by the bed rest . I think it triggered an autoimmune reaction in me when I tried to start standing up after 14 weeks of laying on my left side. My docs all tell me they don't think it was the bed rest because my pots acts like an AI disorder and flares and remitts. However I disagree with them because I never had a single dysautonomia symptom until I tried standing after 14 weeks of laying. I cannot deny that connectionInteresting that you experienced this connection. I had 3 complicated pregnancies that required bedrest; the worst was 5 months of bedrest. While I had tachycardia and pre-syncope etc for a few weeks after delivery, it was nothing compared to what I have now. At that point, IF mine even qualified as POTS-type symptoms, it did get better with exercise. What I have now has SO many more symptoms and frequently is exacerbated with exercise.Guess it's all part of trying to figure out the many "flavors" of POTS. Clearly, while we all may have the same diagnostic label there are a wide variety of underlying etiologies.
FarmerAmy
My husband and I own a vegetable farm and work our butts off! I have always been active. My symptoms came on suddenly and took me from doing a lot of physical work to knocking me flat on my back.
Anoj
i was EXTREMELY stressed and overactive when mine hit. two factors that came into play: weaning off of an SSRI and drinking just a little too much alcohol one night (3-4 beers, nothing crazy). McBlonde
Ditto katybug!! I was going 24/7 in a very demanding job. Was also in the best physical shape of my life - working out with a trainer. I pushed and pushed through symptoms for years before I couldn't push anymore.-Dizzyde(null)Ditto. Me, too!
Mytwogirlsrox
Who knows, I had two babies literally back to back and breastfed them both for a year.. So it felt like I spent years on my booty Prego or nursing. I think there is more involved though ... The body is too complex for this simplistic explanation.
