E246
Hi,I cannot find much on the site about Calcium Channel Blockers. I have taken them of and on -sometimes they work and other times they seem to make the chest pain worse. My predominant problem is chest pain and chest pressure. i have now developed an increasingly irregular HR and am waiting for an implanted heart monitor as it keeps being missed on other monitors. i was only diagnosed in Dec and have now been prescribed diltizen -CCblocker. What are anyone else's experience on this. i am concerned as i briefly took a beta blocker and it took 10 days and alot of pain to come off it. have others found this helpful. as far as i know i have hyperandergenic pots. would be really grateful for any info from pots sufferers. samannran
Hi. I have taken Diltiazem for many years now along with Coreg. This combo is the only heart meds I can tolerate. All others drop my bp too low. My experience has been a positive one.

ramakentesh
In POTS you take calcium channel blockers to improve cerebral hypoperfusion, not for chest pain. Nitric oxide works well for this but no one as yet ca explain it and it goes against the prevailing theories about the mechanisms of POTS.
