It's so hard to know why we have flare-ups. It may not be related to your sleep pattern. However, I do know that if I lie down too long (like over 8 hrs of sleep) I get worse POTS symptoms b/c I get more dehydrated and perhaps there are other physiological things that happen when we are prone for too long. I know my specialist has said I should not lie down for extended periods and should drink fluids as soon as I wake in the AM.

Strangely enough, the more sleep I get, the worse I feel, too.

I tend to do best with around 5-6 hours sleep as opposed to a full 8. I'm still tired at the end of the day, but the brain fog, dizziness, soul-crushing fatigue, tachycardia, and palpitations seem to be better. Don't know why :(

maybe i need to try to limit my sleep. I really did have the first good nights sleep in ages but have just felt awful for it all day. Admittedly i probably did get dehydrated overnight as it was warm in the room but i couldnt leave the window open as the wind outside was battering the blinds. Really hoping tommorow is a better day.

thanks guys.x

Hi...

I just had a sleep study last night and found out that I desat to 70% -- Anything less than 85% is not good. So I was just wondering - they said I have mild obstructive sleep apnea with the desats - I woke up with a headache and feeling kinda miserable - in spite of the fact that I slept from about 11pm to 6am or so -- I NEVER sleep that long. Anyway it was long enough for 4 rems and as many bad breathing areas on the study. So I wondered if hypoxemia from this could cause you to feel lousy.... I have a second study tomorrow night so I'll ask a ton of questions - cuz I wonder as we have no idea what happens when we sleep - if people with dysautonomia have sleep disorders or suffer with them some how 'harder'? If that makes any sense lol....
