sarct
I had an episode yesterday that was pretty bad. It actually caused an all over brain throb. It felt like my brain was throbbing. The whole thing. After the episode passed I had this really strong metallic tatse (I get this a lot with episodes) and I couldn't move my mouth or tongue for about a minute. I had this tongue thing happen in the past, but not with the brain throb. I have had frontal throbbing in the head, but this all over brain throb really frightened me. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this feeling as it was really quite frightening. I am still waiting for my appointment with the specialist to be made. I am calling on Monday to see about how it is going with that. In the meantime I was taken off my zoloft as they believe that is what is causing my stomach upset, and my episodes are increasing with frequency and intensity. I feel a bit of a mess right now, and I have been looking through posts and the info on here and nothing has really described this episode I had yesterday. MightyMouse
sarct, have you ever been evaluated for seizure disorder? Just wondering b/c some people with seizures report phantom tastes, smells, along with odd sensations and an inability to control motor functions or sometimes other body functions. Do keep trying to get in to see a neurologist or if unavailable, maybe your gp?Nina
Sophia3
Do you get pressure in head a lot when upright? How about the metallic taste in the mouth?Had a neck injury or cerebral spinal fluids ever checked? I know some folks that have had issues with CSF.Saw a thing on a dramatic Mystery Diagnosis show (that woman s case was severe) but one of her gripe was metallic taste in mouth...it's RARE but one can develop a small leak...but it depends on your history.I know of somebody who's had some surgeries and her spinal fluid pressures fluctuate.Could be what Nina suggested or dental problems.not trying to diagnose..just looking outside the box. Good luck.
ajw4790
Could it also be an atypical migraine? The taste could be an aura. But, definetly something to discuss with a dr.Good luck!
