Hi, I'm a lurker who almost never posts, but I'm kind of in a pickle, and need some input. Do any of you ever have a problem with your dysautonomia causing your sugar levels to do the opposite of what it's suppose to do when taking the meds for diabetes? I know this is an incredibly odd question, but my husband and I even did an experience with this. My glucose level in the morning was 122, once I took my glipizide which I have to do every morning, my blood sugar went up to 200. I hadn't eaten breakfast yet, so I ate my breakfast, of course it went up to 255, and not going down. So I thought, I should take another glipizide to help bring it down. It went up to 355. Didn't know what was going on. Decided not to eat anything, but drink lots of water. After a few hours, it went down to 177. By this time, it was time for my late afternoon glipizide, so I took it, nothing to eat, and with in about a half hour, it went up to 307. The only thing I can think is that my dysautonomia was doing something odd to my endrocrin system. Since that day, we've check it religiously and with out a doubt, it kept going up, after taking the glipizide. I've been on it for about 3 years now, and have never had this happen. Have any of you, and what did you do. thank you so much for any info you can provide. This is so odd, and I really need it to behave itself!
