  1. I drive a paper route to bring a little extra cash, delivery the papers to a paper box at the ends of driveways. Takes about 1 1/2 hours a day.

But mostly I'm a stay at home mom taking care of three children. Love it!

I have been home for about 6 years. Before that I was working in the office of a car dealership. And having way to much stress!

Between driving my son to preschool, try to get as much house work done as I can, play with the kids, take care of the kids and the husband. :)

  2. Sorry you have felt left out. As for some have already said, I don't have any info to add to your posts, Sorry. :D

I have not been on for the last two weeks as much as I'd like or have been before. Been very stressed(family issues), daughter's b-day, over did it big time, and just feeling bad all together.

Again I am sorry and if I didn't before I welcome you and I hope you find some help.

  3. Sorry to hear about your gallbladder.

I had to have mine out about 2 1/2 yrs. ago, it was very routine surgery. The only prob was I was not diag. with Pots yet, so nothing special was done, and I had a very hard time coming out of it afterwards.

I had 2 very bad attacks, and I could swear I was dying. After the second attack it was only 2 weeks till I had the surgery because mine was so bad.

Good luck and keep us posted.

  4. Lauren,

Hope you are feeling better. I have bad times also when my menstrual cycle is going on. My doctor started me on Flourineff? for the week before my cycle. This past cycle wasn't near as bad as the ones before it. Just something to look into. I know everyone is different, but that has helped me. Good luck.

I am sorry that Hawii isn't working for you. Good luck on finding a doctor when you move back.

  5. I also went to see Dr. Fouad, yes for me also she was hard to understand. I think I saw her a total of three times. First, for just a consultation, second for tilt test and then for the dye test. She is great for history and dealing with pots, but also hard to get a hold of for follow up care.

My suggestion, if you are able to do a followup for test results, do it. I just received them in the mail, and now wish I would have done the followup in office for results.

    Good luck!

  6. Keeping everyone in my thoughts and prayers.

My step-mother-in-laws sister and husband had to leave, their house in expected to be leveled. And their mother was in a nursing home, left on a bus, turned around taken back to the home, then was flown to Dallas hospital. They aren't even sure which hospital, but happy that she was out of the town. Please keep everyone in your prayers.

  7. Danya,

I had my gallbladder out about 2 1/2 years ago. At the time I did have POTS, but just wasn't diagnosed yet. Hense for me, the only problem was right after surgery, I had to be put back on oxygen in recovery because I wasn't coming around. I didn't seem to be to bad after that.

Just curious, why do you have to have it out, is it because of gall stones, ( that was why I had to have mine out)? Just wondering. If you feel more comfortable, get a second opionion, or get with your POTS to see if they can work together. As others have suggested.

    Good luck.

Also, do you know if they will be using the laprostic(?) or will they have to do it the old fashin way?

  8. Like everyone else has said, check with your doctor.

I do have chest pains also, and now I just believe they are POTS related.

A couple years back, I had a few severe chest pains, to the point of being curled into a fetus position, couldn't move, and I swore I was dying. Those were caused by a gall bladder attack, and I had mine removed. I have had some, not quite as bad, but a few, and the doctor told me it was due to POTS.

But always have it checked by doctors to make sure it isn't something major.

  9. Chad,

I'm not sure if you read my post on my leg pain, on the topic you started about "important question".

Yes, I have leg pains! I thought it wasn't so bad, but yesterday when I went out to pick up a pizza, I was wearing shorts, and didn't feel like putting on my compression hose, but yet I didn't want to wear my knee high compression socks, so I took them off. BIG MISTAKE! Till I got home, my legs were in pain.

I'm not sure what kind of pain you have in your legs, and it is always to get things checked out by a doctor. But, have you ever tried or do you wear compression socks?

  10. Melissa,

I'd say heaviness is a good word, just plain uncomfortable :( .

When I went to pick up some pizza, I didn't want to put on my compression hose, but I didn't want to wear my compression socks with shorts, so I took them off. Till I got home, my legs felt so heavy and just yucky  . So of course, put on the socks back on. I guess I'll stick to wearing the socks from sun up to sun down.

  11. I can't say that I have the pulse in the stomach.

But I do get severe leg pains, what is strange, is the last time I spoke with the nurse for Dr. Fouad, she told me that I shouldn't have pain in the legs, she said "that is not POTS related". With you all saying you have pains, I feel a little better that I'm not by myself with the leg pains.

  12. I have found if I eat small, and though out the day I do better than eating a few big meals. I still do eat a decent size meal for supper when the whole family sits down to eat. After eating the meal, I usually don't feel like doing much.

To icthus, not knowing your full story, I would guess that yes it is because of the salt intake. I know for me the more salt the better.
