  1. I get the shakes often at night. Mostly buzzing, tingling or twitching in my extremeties or face.It gets worse when the weather changes. I have had gastroparesis and some kind of nerve issues for about 5 years now. Although I've been sick for years, the sleep issues have been around for the past year or so. On bad days I wake up at 3am and can't get back to sleep so I average about 3-4 hours of sleep a night. 5htp seems to help with my sleep but it doesn't relieve the nausea, pain or nerve symptoms.
  2. @corina Thank you for the warm welcome. Hopefully, my experiences will be able to help someone else like you all have helped me. @Rachel Thanks for your insight. I haven't gone to see an immunologist cause most of the experiences I've had in the medical system have been negative. Honestly, until I found this forum, I didn't even know most of this stuff existed. Every doctor I had been to said I was "stressed out" or depressed and not really taken too seriously. I was feeling pretty low recently. I am not sure where to go next, but I have an appointment with my new primary next month so I am thinking about what the best way to approach her with this is. As an aside: I had a strange experience. I started to come down with a cold on Sunday night after I posted. I'll be darned if for the first time in 2 and a half years, my stomach worked. No nausea or refluxing. No stomach swishing or vomiting. It was great for about 3 days and now it has gone back to it's old ways. I feel like you may be right that there is something wrong with my immune system. I was really bummed when it came back, but It gives me hope that if I can treat it soon, I might be able to recover the nerves. I hope that my GP will help me. Thank you for listening
  3. Hi Katybug, Thanks so much for responding. That PANDAS information is wild, it describes alot of my mood stuff to a T. Also coupled with the fact that strep infections seem to make my symptoms go so much worse. I haven't yet found a physician cause I always assumed that I had a run of the mill thing that would clear up in a short amount of time, yet here I am almost 3 years later. I am happy for the info cause I feel more enlightened than I have in years, but also a little overwhelmed and scared.
  4. Hi everyone, My name is Reg. I'm a 34 year old male and I found your site after many years of strange symptoms. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in 2009 due to strange muscle cramp and twitching. In January of 2011 I went through a severe depression due to a breakup. During that time, I got the flu and my stomach hasn't been the same since. I was diagnosed with gastroparesis after a fasted endoscopy showed food in my stomach many hours after fasting. The gi specialist said that he was sure it would go away, maybe in 6 months, maybe in 6 years but someday. Other stuff I've read says that viral gastroparesis will heal as well. I've had a ton of other symptoms before this though. All the way back to high school. - Twitching - Flushing - Dizziness on standing - Polyuria at night - IBS - Migraine with aura -Beau's lines -Bipolar disorder Strangely, my symptoms seem to worsen when the weather changes, I get sick, allergies, rain. My biggest question is, is there any hope of my stomach getting better? It has been 2 and a half year and it seems like I can still reflux my breakfast at dinner time (sorry about the imagery). Everything else I can deal with but the stomach issue is getting to me lately. Are there any supplements I can take to regrow nerves? I've tried exercise, no carbs, meditation and nothing seems to help. Thank you, -Reg
