  1. It has been a week now and my husband is still suffering severley. They gave him a steroid shot yesterday and steroid pills to take. They have ordered a full body bone scan for Monday to confirm the diagnosis. The doc said they could give him shots in his chest if this does not work. And he can hardly breathe or talk today. The doctor told him to go to the ER or urgent care and get some oxygen. There is not alot they can do for him except pain meds. Keep him in your prayers for a quick recovery.

  2. I just recently went on a shot to stop my periods (Depo) about 3 weeks ago. I will know within a week if it really does stop my periods and if it does I will be greatly relieved because my symptoms get worse too the week before and the week of my period. One great benefit I have already noticed is that my skin is looking great. I was beginning to have breakouts with my cycles and I am 40 years old.

  3. Thanks for the response. It was such a relief that it was not a heart attack or a blood clot in the lung or a collapsed lung. I was out of town because my Aunt had died from a heart attack when my husband called me, so you can imagine my relief of the diagnosis.

  4. My husband thought he was having a heart attack Monday afternoon driving home. He had such sharp pains in his chest and he could not breathe. He almost passed out. When he got to the ER they thought he had a blot clot in the lung or a collapsed lung. After many hours and tests he was diagnosed with Costochondritis and given pain killer and anti-inflammatory meds. They told him the 2 blood tests that check for a heart attack..........the main one showed normal and the other showed some muscle damage but just not heart muscle damage. Evidently this 45 minute attack actually damaged or bruised the muscle tissue in his chest. It was scary but we are so relieved that he is going to be ok. I did not know that you could have such a severe case of costochondritis. I have it at times but nothing like this.

  5. I have been waking up very stiff for days now, especially in my shoulders. Some swelling. Worse in the am and then in the afternoon to night. I went to my son's performance last night at his school and sat in the bleachers and it was difficult to get out of the stands and walk to my car. I have a wonderful son and he let me lean on his arm and escorted me to my car. I am so proud of my two sons 14 & 17. They look out for Mom and are such gentlemen. My son was not the least bit embarrassed to have to help me last night at his school...............You can tell I am proud of my sons.

So back to the subject. I am on Sinemet for RLS and Trazadone to sleep and those are new within the last month.

Also, my doctor wants me to have blood work for my thyroid. He said I have a goiter.

    Any thoughts?

  6. I would think that you have a RIGHT to a copy of your report. You paid for their services so they work for you. Call back and demand a copy of your report!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, guess I woke up a little testy today but seriously they cannot refuse you a copy of your own medical records.

  7. OK. I am not taking the Trazadone because I thought it was making my deams wierder but I guess not because I have had some wierd and some bad dreams since I stopped taking it. I am taking Sinemet for my restless leg and ambien for sleep. Anyone out there ever had wierd or bad dreams as a side effect of either of these meds.

Also, my GYN gave me a depro shot for birth control a week ago and I have had atleast 2 days where I just want to take peoples heads off and that is not my normal personality. The depo shot lasts three months so I guess if the shot is making me edgy, them I may be hard to live with for 3 months.

    Any suggestions?

  8. It was a good visit. He was ok with me taking Ambien and gave me the option of continuing but gave me another choice of a really low dose older antidepressant which I said I would try. He said if it did not work to take the Ambien again. Also gave me something for the RLS. Also ordered a thyroid test.............said I have a slight goiter. He is the second doc to mention it to me but havent had that tested in a year so time to do that again.

He was very good and did not blow me off. I am pleased.

  9. I know I am in for a bad day and just need to stay in bed when I wake up and can't walk straight. I tried it for a couple of hours and just gave it up and came home and I crashed. Slept off and on the whole day. I am learning little by little when to give it up and stay in bed. I work full time and am a manager though and I try not to stay home to often. These off balance days seem to happen about once a quarter.

  10. I noticed several of you suggested eating smaller meals/snacks throughout the day. What do you suggest that is easy to carry with you that works for you? Open to suggestions. Do you find that you get more fatigued or sleepy when you are not eating or snacking like you should?
