  1. Thanks abetterjulie. I would love some recipes. I know what you mean about food on the go. I have three kids and they were used to Mommy being too tired to cook before I had a diagnosis. Now they don't understand why I can't go to McDonald's. LOL.

  2. You do not need the negative energy please listen to your body when it says to take it slow. I have had mild symptoms all of my life and I tried to "push" through them because people in my life did not believe that anything was wrong with me. As a result my body completely crashed on me a little more than a year ago. I could not even stand up long enough to take a shower. You are so lucky to have a diagnosis while your symptoms are not severe. However, you still have an imbalance that must be addressed. You are your only advocate for yourself and you should stand up for what you know is best for your body. Chances are standing up for yourself may show your husband that you are serious. He should want you to get better and pushing yourself will not help you.

  3. I voted 1-5 years but I have had symptoms since I was 16. As I have gotten older it has gotten worse and the last two years have been the worst. But at least I finally got a doctor who believed me and didn't try to tell me I was just depressed and needed a vacation.

  4. How there! My whole condition seems to be dictated by what foods I eat, or don't. I'm thankful I am finding out this piece to the puzzle because it helps me a lot. Do stay away from the carbs. I feel the best when I eat a histamine free diet, with fresh foods. Fresh meats, no leftovers, with fresh fruits and vegetables. I'm from the south too so looks like you need a pot of beans with cabbage, onions, carrots, celery, cooked in homemade chicken broth. That's what I have brewing today.

The soup sounds great! Do you stay away from all carbs?

  5. My heart goes out to you. I just lost my job in June because of this. I had been in that career for 17 years and had invested the last two years going back to school to advance. I was a year away from getting my degree. However, I know that physically there is no way that I can ever go back to teaching so I understand your mixed emotions. If there is anything that I can do . . .

  6. Exhaustion is one of my worst symptoms. Usually it comes after a day of activity. I am still learning my limits. I have had to give up my job because some days I didn't even have the energy to get dressed. The greatest thing that I am learning through this is that I can live my life on my own terms. If I need to lay in bed all day (or for several days) I do.

  7. Help please! Finally I have gotten a diagnosis of POTS but food seems to affected everything. The docs have put me on a gluten free/sugar free diet and told me to eat 6 times a day. I am from the deep South so I am totally lost! I am open to all suggestions.

  8. Lately and I don't know why every time I drink it seems like I have absolutely no tolerance for it. One bottle of beer or a glass of wine and I am drunk, and on top of that it last for hours like its not metabolizing or something, this is all then followed by a massive hangover. I have no idea what is going on with me.

I have had a similar experience with alcohol. I was thinking maybe it had something to do with my blood sugar.
