  1. Hi, My son and I both have Pots. I believe I have had mine since I was a child. My son was diagnosed as a Freshman in high school. He is now 19 and symptoms are getting better. My teenage daughter hasn't been diagnosed but has had several 'episodes' where she feels sick, gets hot, flushed, heart pounds, ears ring and she faints. So who knows?? Jane
  2. My son was diagnosed at 15 with Pots. He is now a Freshman in college and has taken himself off of all meds. (against my wishes) He still has mild symptoms but he is much improved since high school. His doctor seems to think his body is 'out growing Pots' because he is now finished growing. Jane
  3. I have done the saliva test also and found out that my hormone levels are consistently too high. So I guess there could be a link?? Jane
  4. Yes, the normal should be about 40. My bp is usually about 105/45. There is always at least a 60 point difference between the 2. Jane
  5. Hi all, I've searched the forum for 'pulse pressure' topics and I only found 'narrow pulse pressure'. I am wondering if anyone has a wide difference between diastolic and systolic bp. My resting pulse pressure is always between 60 and 80. If you search the internet it suggests this is a serious situation?? thanks, Jane
  6. Thanks firewatcher! I did have a 24 hour creatinine and cortisol urine test and the creatinine came back normal. I will look up the article you mentioned and also follow up with my internist. I love the term 'autonmically dysfunctional family'! It's also very interesting and complicated I am sure that no blood test is accurate for you! Jane
  7. Hi All, I am new to this forum. My teenage son was diagnosed with POTS 4 years ago and I was diagnosed shortly after. Now that my son is in college his symptoms seem to be lessening! I believe I have always had minor symptoms but as I get older they are increasing. My main symptoms are low bp, brachycardia, anxiety, and constipation. I have some other symptoms that I am wondering if they are POTS related. I anger Very easily and am impatient and moody and just recently several urinalysises showed my 'urine specific gravity' is very decreased. I have had urinary burning all of my life, but other than that no symptoms. I am trying not to freak out as the doctor said one cause is kidney failure. Anyone else have anything like this - the moodiness or urinary problems? I am working between 3 doctors all with different opinion (lol) Thanks in advance, Jane ps - I just ordered the dvd and am excited to get it!
