Allergic symptoms when taking an ACE or ARB

Hi,

Has anyone had a allergic reaction to an ACE or ARB med? On the ACE i would get bad flare ups. Runny nose, sneezing, POTS like symptoms (tachy with palpitations) low bp, rashes, IBS symptoms, chest tightness and pain, weezing, occasional skin rash list goes on. On the ARB i broke out in hives.

Kinda getting worried. My bp is on the high side so i need to keep pushing for a secondary med. My health care team is not willing to give GUANFACINE a try and don't want to change meds for now (I get a feeling they may not be sure what to do)

Wonder if it would be worth asking my GP for some allergy testing?

Had a good visit with my GP today. On the forefront was my reactions to drugs and the havoc it causes. I held back using the term MCAS (i do not believe i have this) and let him figure out the issue. He came up an allergic reaction which opened up the conversation about a histamine release, totally is on board.

He does know what health issues a long term histamine release can cause and pointed out histamine causing low Blood Pressure. My Doc also said i am (unique) he has never seen anyone in his practice with so many chronic health issues as i have.

For now we think i have been doing well with identifying triggers. We did discuss if i have an allergy flare he will order a round of prednisone but cautioned on taking daily antihistamines as there is long term concerns doing so.

My Dr does want me to be tested for Dysautonomia (he is on board with me having nOH) but we had to prioritize my needs. My high BP spikes and vascular problems is at the top of the list.

We did stop my Mestinon as a potential cause of the high bp spikes (i have already noticed a change in readings).
