lamp_girl
I finally figured out that my muscle weakness is probably increased sympathetic nerve activity, as ativan and clonidine both help me. Will exercise in general make this better over time?
Guest ScottS
Most people with dysautonomia (POTS, no matter the form, included) benefit from exercise. In fact, exercise - assuming you can do it - is considered essential to helping keep symptoms in check. (I have a couple of forms of dysautonomia, including non-hyper POTS. I am a life long yoga and Qigung practitioner and instructor. I also - try to - ride an exercise bike every day.) Edited January 2, 2019 by ScottS Correction. Pistol
I have hyper POTS with excessive sympathetic activity. I do not suffer from muscle weakness, clonidine made my symptoms much worse and Ativan does not help for the hyperadrenergic symptoms ( but does help with sleeping on good days ). When I am in a flare exercise will make everything worse but helps prevent symptoms when able to exercise on good days. Not sure if this info is helpful. p8d
I have hyper pots and have never noticed muscle weakness associated with it. I take clonidine and exercise to help with *everything*.
