katcanny
Hi everyone! While I am in no way giving medical advice I am far from a doctor I have found that the birth control pill I was on which was YAZ FLEX also has sister drug called YASMIN might have caused my POTS! I have stopped this pill for nearly two weeks and my constant dizziness is slowly subsiding and is no longer now constant! I researched my pill and there are a lot of suggestions that it has caused tachycardia in a lot of patients after prolonged use and I was on this for 6 years! My tachycardia is still there but no where near as bad as what it has been to the point where I have been able to start back at work this week and drive my kids to their first week back at school! I have started on another birth control pill but with different hormones in it so here's hoping ? just wanted to pass on my experience to everyone xo

MomtoGiuliana
Thanks for sharing your experience. Great that you are feeling better! I definitely have felt worse on birth control pills, in general--more tachycardia etc. Some POTS patients seem to feel better on them. Bluebonnet08
I believe that YAZ caused A LOT of my issues with POTS. Birth control pills in general are what triggered by first episode.
Bigskyfam
Mirena iud and hormones weren't good for this potsy. Here's hoping you find what's right for you!
E246
Hi, Yes my pots started after having a mirena coil. The coil was removed after 3 days but I ended up not being able to walk and not understanding why my legs wobbled. For 5 years i had posts symptoms on and off and nobody understood until it hit me full on. I still believe the coil started my POTS. Having said that i also took bio-identical HRT and i found this helpful.
saw2112
Hi Kat, I don't know about causing it, but hands down every BCP I've ever used in the past - until now - has made my orthostatic episodes and other neurologic symptoms worse. I'm currently on LoLoestrin. It's the only one that hasn't. - Sarah
