Darlene
My hearing was September 24th. I received a call a few days ago from SSI telling me my hearing was approved. She asked me several questions. She asked me if I pay rent to my friend I live with. I said "I have no income, so obviously i can't but I am suppose to pay him $300 a month since 2008". Does this change my back pay? Will they take money from my back pay and give to my friend I live with? Guess I don't get why they asked me if I paid rent when they know I do not have an income. Katybug
I'm thinking it has something to do with how they calculate how much your going to get. I haven't read anywhere that they would actually divert part of a backpayment to a landlord.....only to your lawyer if you used one for your hearing.
