MomtoGiuliana
Low K+ is pretty common in POTS patients from what I understand.I frequently have somewhat low potassium (and normal sodium and magnesium). I believe tachycardia "uses up" K+--if I have understood my doctor correctly in the past. If you have a lot of tachycardia you need a diet rich in potassium, according to what I have understood. Also a high sodium diet can cause some "wasting" of K+. I've never had these other tests.
Becia
Yeah, my potassium has been low a lot with mine. Couple times I've been in the er, they have tried to give me potassium pills, but I cannot swallow them, they are too large for me.
JuneFlower
Yes I have heard from the dr to drink stuff like Gatorade to help with all electrolytes. But truly a 3.4 with a ref of 3.5 on the low end would be considered normal. June
