Anyone Had This Weird Symptom?

Hey everyone, just wanted to know if anyone has experienced this before? Back in Jan 2010 I collapsed in the gym lifting weights, woke up in ER unable to breathe, after being tested for heart disease,asthma,brain/lung tumors, diabetes, synactin(hormone processing),various allerges and even AIDs all came back clear.

Doctors were confused to say the least, over the next few months I lost about 30lbs(which I didn't have to spare!)

I had no other syptoms other than not being able to breathe amd as a result could barely walk unassisted.

Thankfully over the next year with alot(100+sessions) of physiotheraphy that cleaned out my savings my symptons finally began to gradually receed, only to be replaced by chronic low BP and orthostatic hypopressure, after several more doc referrals I finally found a specialist who diagnosed me with dysautonomia(altough docs here don't call it that),I have sttuggled with my BP since 2011 untill lastay at which I reinjured myself again!,this time lifting a case of drinks, which leads me to belive my systoms all share the same source!..anyway the weird part is my BP is back to normal since the injury but now I can't breathe properly!again!..it's been six months and am only now well enough to return to physio.

My question is this, has anyone experienced these breathing problems and how do they relate to your other symptoms?..as horrible as my sysmptoms are right now I feel that if I can understand this pattern I my have the answer to getting a permanent cure.

Mike,

I don't have answers for you, sorry about that, but I can suggest you look for the posts made by RichGotPots here on this forum. To my knowledge he has struggled with breathing issues so his posts may turn to be helpful for you.

Good luck,

Alex

Mike,

I agree with Alex that Rich's posts may hold a plethera of good information and research for you. The leads his posts have may give you a few avenues to research further. You may even want to PM him if he doesn't chime in on this thread and see if he can give you a quick list of syndromes and diseases to look in to.

Have you had your back/neck thoroughly checked out? I have no idea what is causing your symptoms, but since both times it was spurred by lifting something heavy, perhaps there is something to do with nerves in the upper back area that would control breathing, etc...perhaps they were injured or compressed or somethig like that? Sorry you are dealing with this! Good luck

Mike,

I think western mass has a good point too. If you want to go down that road, you would need to see a neurosurgeon and preferably one that has a subspecialty cervical spine instability. This subspecialty will give you someone that has a better understanding of how the nerves in that specific region affect organ function.
