Daily Headaches

Recommended Posts

My dysautonomia specialist recomended 400 mg magnesium supplement and/or 400mg vitamin B2 for trying to reduce headache frequency. I'm not sure if it helps or not becuase I haven't gotten to the store yet but it's a suggestion. I'll let you know if it helps. It can't hurt because the excess will be excreted. There's also medications to try to prevent headaches but were going to try this first to see how it works. I have POTS with headaches being one of my daily symptoms hopefully this will work if not for me than for someone else.

I take Magnesium daily so it would be hard to determine if it has warded off the headaches. You might want to get Magnesium Citrate...it is much easier on the stomach. You can get that kind at a vitamin/supplement store. I have been using the brand NOW. Good Luck!

I started taking Magnesium to help me sleep. I do have fewer headaches, but I believe it is because I am sleeping through the night now (most nights anyway). When I don't sleep well, I always have a headache and often a migraine. If I take the magnesium and still don't sleep well, I will still get a headache. That is why I think the Magnesium is "indirectly" helping the headache situation, but only when it is successful in helping me to get a full night of sleep.

My son also has a daily headache that does not stop. About 6 months ago, it went away. He had blood test and his levels in d, iron, and seratoin levels were coming up. In January he caught the flu and his headache came back. He just had another set of blood test ran, everything was the same except for seratoin. The blood test showed that seratoin could not be measured in blood test. If mangnesium and B2 does not help, might want to check into seratoin levels.
