Relax86
It raised my BP immediately which was the cause of my lightheadedness; therefore I had a positive effect immediately. I took 2.5mg at 8am and 2pm. That was the dose that worked for me. I am extremely sensitive to all meds though.
Chaos
I currently take 7.5 mg 2-3x/day. I've been up as high as 10 mg 3x/day. I suspect your doc is starting you off at a low dose because so many POTS patients are so sensitive to meds. The other thing to remember is that you have to be drinking adequate amounts of fluid for the midodrine to be effective- at least that is what my POTS doc tells me. If you're not feeling any improvement in symptoms in another couple days, you might want to call and let the doc know. They might want to adjust the dose.
