HopeSprings Posted August 30, 2012 Report Posted August 30, 2012 This is a weird one and I have no idea what it has to do with POTS? I'm having a problem tolerating the feel of certain fabrics - it's giving me that nails on a chalkboard, cringe feeling. I've noticed it really bad this summer sitting on my patio chair cushions - whatever that fabric is - polyester I guess? The feel of it and almost the sound of it as I sit down or move around on the chair is making me feel like I want to jump out of my skin. It's the same with some other synthetic fabrics, like acrylic yarn. Anyone else have anything like this? How could it be related - thinking just a really super sensitive nervous system? It's like some filter has been lost and everything is just too overstimulating. Quote
arizona girl Posted August 31, 2012 Report Posted August 31, 2012 Yea, I have that problem too. I live for soft cotton. Have trouble finding pj's that don't scratch me. I think it is a form of sensory small fiber neuropathy. I also have a problem with loud sudden noises. Quote
anaphylaxing Posted September 1, 2012 Report Posted September 1, 2012 I get that with loads of fabrics. And can't touch unfinished porcelain or chalk iiick Quote
