Well it does seem that angiotensin ii has the same effect as atomoxetine as an NET inhibitor if I'm reading this correctly. This is a large volume of information for me to absorb I'll have to reread through it all. I've actually never touched base with what the NET is or what the theory of its association is with POTS.

Actually this is something I wrote up a while back. I just found it and thought Id post it today. Too hot outside to do much else!

First study found that SNRIs worsended symptoms in POTS patients.

Second study talks about the prevalance of the finding of NET abnormalities in POTS

Third study demonstrates that POTS patients tested had reduced expression of NET in their forearms.

And then there is the connection to Angiotensin II - which modulates NE reuptake and perhaps NET expression.

The first study from Vanderbilt suggested that ang II was associated with the reduced NE reuptake phenotype in POTS.
