sue1234
Reading through PubMed, I ran into this response to a run-of-the-mill article written by Dr. Castells. She was talking about someone who ate lunch, exercised, had a typical upper respiratory allergy-type response, took meds, then passed out.The story itself is not interesting, but the attached article where a doctor responds to another possibility is. As I said in the title, it mentions wheat as the most likely offender in these kind of cases. Hmmm, are we going back to celiac of gluten-intolerant here?http://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMc1105149I'd like to mention that I cannot walk for more than about 5-10 minutes(only in cool weather) or I start swelling. I can't wait to get my last biopsy done so I can go gluten-free.
lieze
I did not read the article but I read about this phenomenon a couple years ago with runners.Typically they get hit with anaphylaxis after a salad.Didn't the US Olympic runner Joiner I think her last name was die of anaphylaxis? Scary.
