abnel
Thanks ABC. I wondered if there is any type of exercise and heart rate zone you could recommend people start doing before going on the exercise protocol. I'm fairly exercise intolerant at the moment as I'm going through a pretty bad POTS flare, and I could imagine the protocol would be a real shock to the system. Also, does the exercise protocol gradually increase in intensity and duration for the 3 months or does it hit you like a truck from day 1? I realise it might be different for different people but it would be great to get your perspective.
ACB
Lotusflower, as far as good initial exercise, recumbent types are recommended by the pros. So, the recumbent bike, rowing machine, and strength training you can do without standing are great. HR zones vary by person and are determined for the Levine protocol by a stand test participants do with their doctor before starting it.Before I started the protocol, right after I got diagnosed, I bought a recumbent bike and just did what I could each day. I didn't know how hard or how easy to take it, so I just did what I could (which was very little at that point!). The exercises on the protocol do increase in intensity and duration.
