Godsgal
Okay...I think I might go nuts. This stupid sportline watch I have is driving me crazy and I'm worried. It has told me several times today that my heart rate was 240 and 186. Both times, when I had the watch recheck my pulse, my heart rate was in the 70's. What gives????I don't feel anything differently except anxious when I see the number. I have been having more difficulty breathing episodes while resting. Is this SVT or a watch error??? Godsgal
One more thing! My heart rate seems to fluctuate even while sitting. 60's, 80's, 70's, 90's all while sitting. All in the same time. I wore a holter for 10 days four weeks ago and there were no rhythm problems...just high heart rate.
lieze
Your heart rate will most likely bounce around like that.Mine has calmed down for the most part but it took a good year. The breathing too will improve in time but don't take my word for it.Review all of this with your POTS specialist. If you feel okay try not to worry too much about the heart rate.Periods of rest followed by short periods of activity can be good.Try to get your feet up whenever you can. yuliya
Those watches are highly inaccurate it is normal for your heart rate to fluctuate, especially if you anxious and checking it all the time.
corina
sorry to say, but it seems a waste of money! when you want to check bp/hr you could ask your doctor or pharmacy which brand/type would be best to buy. corina
Godsgal
I expect some inaccuracy, but my golly, 240 & 186!!!! That worries me! That's why I was wondering if it was SVT or a watch error...
lieze
I don't have any experience with that brand. My polar watch seems fairly accurate and I only paid $89 for it. It was on sale.I actually have found it beneficial.
Noreen
I expect some inaccuracy, but my golly, 240 & 186!!!! That worries me! That's why I was wondering if it was SVT or a watch error...I got inconsistent and wonky results using previous heart rate monitor.I am currently using this watch/monitor and having very accurate readings. It may differ by 2 or 3 points from my blood pressure monitor or the heart rate readings on gym equipment but that is most likely due to having to move arm to push buttons to get reading. it is an attractive watch and is a useful tool in trying to get a handle on this condition.
