kayjay
I am going back to Mayo ( leave in the morning). It is my follow- up with doctor Feely. I just was wondering if anyone else sees him.I have been really bad the past two weeks and I am not going off of my meds for the re-testing. Guest tearose
Yes, he is my main doctor at Mayo! (If you are referring to an ANS Neurologist, Robert Fealey)He is excellent, thorough, kind, professional...he is a gem!He took a complete and total look at all my body systems and issues and guided me to all the other docs and tests I needed while there. He helped me develop a treatment plan that gave me my life back!I see him as one of the best doctors EVER, ANYWHERE!I only make this statement about one other Mayo doctor, an electrophysical cardiologist, Dr. Bradley. Please trust that you are in the BEST of care with Dr. Fealey.best regards, tearose
janiedelite
I also have a good report about Dr. Fealey. He did very thorough testing, even keeping me there for an additional week (beyond the initial 3 days of autonomic testing) so we could fully test some of my odder symptoms. We weren't able to schedule a final appt to review all of my test results, so we camped out in the waiting room from noon to 6pm on the last Friday of testing. He stayed late, squeezing me in, and went over my recent test results and treatment plan. Another thing I really liked about him was that he actually LISTENED to all of my various symptoms. He also was very thorough in his documentation of our visits, which was of utmost help when it came to getting SSDI as well as communicating with other doctors. The only thing I didn't like was that the medications he primarily recommended for me didn't work out (midodrine and mestinon). I told him midodrine previously worsened my Raynaud's/frostbite issues but he told me to take it again. Unfortunately, mestinon caused me problems as well. BUT, even though he didn't have a great treatment plan medication-wise, the basic suggestions of increased fluids/compression/etc were helpful. And, when I ended up in the hospital with a cardiac issue, it took a couple of weeks before Dr. Fealey got back to my hospital cardiologist. But he did call him back, admitting he didn't know what caused my heart problem and agreed with the cardio's plan of care. I hope you also can get the answers you need. I do feel that this Dr does a great job at listening, and he believed all of my symptoms, working his best to get me the answers I needed. rymac
I agree with everybody else about Dr. Fealy. He did listen and he spent a lot of time with me. I wish I could see him again but my insurance will not pay for anything out of state. Good luck to you and I hope everything goes well. Mito Momma
I saw Dr. Sandroni while at Mayo. I was not as happy with her as you all seem to be with Dr. Fealy. I will be returning in Aug. to see a neuromuscular specialist. If I need to follow up with an ANS specialist again while I'm up there, I will try to get in with Dr. Fealy.
