TXPOTS
Does anyone do this ?I have for few days and its tough , nearly passed out.Yes, I just started last week. It is so hard!!! I am supposed to be doing a 70 degree angle twice a day for 10-15 minutes. My record is 5 minutes. My legs turn blue and purple in one minute. It bothers my knees a little, so I am a little concerned about this because I don't want to put a kink in my exercise regimen. I don't actually have the table, so I am using a bed wedge and pillow against a wall. I have also raised the head of the bed, and I wake up with sore legs. I assume this is from pooling. bkweavers
Are you doing this at home or at a physical therapy place? I'm curious because we're going to see if vestibular rehab would help our daughter with her dizziness. Her physical therapists recommended that she try this rehab and I think part of it may be tilt table training.Brenda
miranda
Txpots, It is Interesting that you have been prescribed this training from the doctors ,I read about it online and decided to give it a go. The first time I did I was wearing compression stockings ,lol. (I wondered why I did so well).Last night without the stockings I lasted 15 mins , came over really faint and sick , got down on the floor and my heart was racing fast. My feet also had lots of pins and needles .Your method sounds more technical than mine , I just stand with my feet 7 inches from the wall and lean back onto my shoulders , I might give the cushion idea a go.teachr4k , I would be interested to know what therapy they give your daughter , dizziness is a big problem of mine.thanks for the replys
potsgirl
How do you set this up at home?
TXPOTS
I think the ideal way would be to rent a tilt table or go somewhere this is offered. I know my POTS specialist offers this, but I am hours away. I use a bed wedge and pillows and approximate a 70 degree angle. A mattress against a wall may be easier. futurehope
teachr4k,Before I knew I had POTS, or maybe before I had it, I was sent to the Hopkins "dizzy clinic" and given exercises to train my body. I wonder if this is the same as the "vestibular exercises" you are referring to?The exercises I did helped my body adjust to motion, head turning without feeling as dizzy. It obviously had nothing to do with orthostatic intolerance.
