  1. So, I was recently diagnosed with Hyper POTS after covid infection in February.  My cardiologist told me to wear knee high compression socks and/or an abdominal binder. I have issues with the socks while wearing shoes due to nerve pain in my foot and toes so I also got footless, high waisted compression tights. He said that was also fine.

My problem is I twice now forgot to ask how often or when I am supposed to be wearing some kind of compression. Generally I wear the socks all the time except when leaving the house, then I wear the tights. I put on the binder when I get up in the morning and take it off a coupe hours before bed. Sometimes I get itchy and tired of the socks and take them off at night too.

Im wondering how much or when do others wear their compression gear. Also, I get a sharp pains that I think is muscle pain after I take it off...is that normal or should I be concerned?

  2. OMG, I'm extremely sure you just gave me the proper term for a life long issue. My parents always referred to it as "lazy eye." It goes much further than that, though my lazy eye is mostly not noticeable anymore due to eye therapy and contact lenses. I cannot use both my eyes together for more than a few seconds, but the therapy helped me to use them equally. My vision flips constantly from eye to eye without me noticing.  I can't see 3D, I get motion sickness very easily unless I'm the driver or close my eyes.  I avoid driving at night as much as possible, if it is raining at night Im practically blind due due the light reflection. I have always been uncoordinated, clumsy and poor at judging distance. I regularly walk into door frames. I only passed the vision test for my driver's license because I was aware of my eye issue and cheated basically. Fluorescent lighting makes me very uncomfortable.

Since my HPOTS diagnosis, I noticed visual disturbances that hadn't been present since I was a small child, or during times of very high stress. Now I can see the connection better, it makes sense. Also I can stop explaining it at length to every eye doctor and just use the proper term.

My sister ( who also has POTS ) has a condition called heterophoria, which means ONE eye points up, down, right or left instead of straight ahead. In other words: cross-eyed in one eye. Her brain does not process the information from her eye correctly and she constantly strains to see, cannot see patterns or many colors without getting overstimulated etc. She had this all of her life but just recently was diagnosed with it. She also cannot drive at night b/c of the lights.
