I’ve been seeing several doctors for my condition that started over 6 months ago and they all seem to be telling me different things.
I was in the hospital when this first occurred and my heart rate was jumping up to 160 when I stood up while I had many symptoms of chest pain and fatigue and dizziness.
I finally did a tilt table last month and my heart rate jumped 42 bpm from when I was lying down to standing up. After about 30 minutes of standing my blood pressure had jumped to 157/108. But while I had been lying down it was 112/58.
When they did the cartilage rubbing test I guess my blood pressure did drop a bit. They said it may be because of POTS but they keep trying to write it off as. deconditioning since I had Mono when this started. But I have been working out for months, as often as possible. I’m 23, I’m a dancer and a martial arts instructor. I was teaching dance just 2 months before this happened.
The doctors I see though keep telling me that it’s only POTS if your blood pressure drops. Is that true???
