My name is Miriam. Daughter 15 years dx T1 diabetes in 2003, "ME" in 2010 and has pushed through since... Did standing test at home a few days ago and 80 beats to 130 beats with mottled feet, sweating and sensation of heart thumping. Main distressing symptom is nausea related and fatigue so I am wondering should we explore the gastro route as a primary while trying to get all referrals in place? Does Dr Mathias have a 'team' that he refers people to or would it be better to head to Sheffield for a more comprehensive approach as we live in NE Scotland so will always be travelling. I can make a case to be an NHS patient due to a loophole but am not sure where to focus on as next steps so I would be really interested in anyones experiences of clinics, waiting times, any personal preferences in terms in terms of feeling the treatment meets your expectations or might suit an adolescent more? I feel we have wasted four years of her life already so I am wary of ending up down rabbit holes of the medical system again.Anyone here diagnosed with hypothyroidism too as that seems to be another unexplored factor on our learning curve. Apologies if there are answers in previous posts but just now back to school tomorrow and lots to try to set in place as GCSE's looming and my girl is crying in exhaustion doing holiday work. Grace is managing 4plus litres a day fluids (6'1"). We are upping salt and trying the paleo diet. Any suggestions about support tights or even what you wish you had known...
