  1. Thanks!, I just ordered a blood pressure monitor and hopefully I can learn a bit more. My hubby is also going to have a brain MRI tomorrow and he is referred to see a cardiologist soon. Our GP also noticed that his left neck is swollen, that's probably why he's feeling so much neck pain these days, but we have no idea what's the cause.
  2. This may sounds like a strange question, but I am struggling to find a diagnose for my husband. My husband is an otherwise fit and healthy 34 years male, but was troubled with some mysterious symptoms in the last few years. The main symptoms he had was out of breath and vascular pressure while lying down, and the symptom was much relieved when he stood up. When it happened, he would have lots of troubles falling asleep, the episode often lasted for around a week, during which he would hardly get any proper sleep, and was completely wrecked. Besides out of breath and vascular pressure, he sometimes (not always) felt heart palpitation and pressure or pain behind his eyes. He also had lots of vision problem, and was already diagnosed with having binocular vision deficiency. The vision problem was greatly improved with vision therapy, but was worsened each time with his episode. We have tried many many doctors (neurologist, ENT, ophthalmologist, vision therapist), but so far, except the confirmed binocular vision deficiency , we still have no clue as to why he would have trouble to calm down while lying, and what's the trigger. I came across dysautonomia by accident online, I found some of the symptoms match exactly what he has experienced, especially when i read some of the patients would also develop vision problem (his vision therapist has told him it's extremely rare for adult at his age to develop this problem, and there must be some other trigger). But at the same time, I realized that his main problem was when he laid down, while most of the others seem to have the opposite problem. So a rather naive question from a newbie - is it possible for dysautonomia to have worse symptom while lying down at all? If so, at least we can have a new line of investigation open. Thanks!
