  1. im not sure how it works but i think its to do with pressure points in your body and the man just gently touches them.It works on people with anything including ms.If you do a google search on bowen tchnique you can read all about it.sorry i dont know how to do the links. And it also is suppose to open up the pathways so that the messages can get through easier. Its takes about three sessions to notice any effect.hope this helps.

they found out my bp goes low at night through a blood pressure monitor and is high through the day.the medication they usually use for pots i think is to higher bp.im not really sure.i tried beta blockers but they made me worse so i think im better off without meds.

  2. hey everyone.

i just wanted to update you with some good news.

i went to see the specialist on tuesday and he said that he cant treat me with medication because my blood pressure is abit high, but then goes low through the night. So ive got to carry on as i am with exercising and drinking and looking after myself.

ive been having alternative therapy. Its called the bowen technique. It helps balance out your body and it has helped so much,i am soo much better.

The specialist said that i can go back to work part-time but it would be better if i had a desk job. Im thinking about doing volunteer work for a couple of hours a week.

I know i will have bad days and good days and ive got to try not to overdo it.

but i am happy that i can finally start getting on with things.i think i am one of the lucky ones but it hasnt been easy.So there is hope for other people and dont give up.

    take care.

  3. hey persephone,

My symptoms are like a yoyo.I can be lying down and my heart will beat fast and i feel dizzy 10 minutes later it will go, and it happens like that all through the day.whether im lying or standing it doesnt matter.Im alright between the episodes just abit tired. But i never have a day without my episodes.Maybe i am just strange because pots people seem to get symptoms all day.

Alot of people dont understand pots.

  4. hi everyone hope you are doing ok.

I know we have discussed this topic before but i have a question to ask.

I was doing so well up until now.I fainted this morning and my period has just started.I always seem to faint when im on my period.im also sooo exhausted.I just dont want to be fainting every month when my period comes.

Please could you give me any ideas on what would help with this.

    thankyou.

  5. welcome,i am also from the uk.I am under prof mathias aswell and havent been treated with medications.I have pots and eds for about 2 years and i havent been able to work for 16 months.i no how frustrating it can be not being able to do anything. Its my 21st birthday in july and i would have love to go out with some friends but i dont think thats going to happen.I am so desperate to get a normal life back. But for now ive accepted that this is it for me and to carry on the best i can.Stay positive.I have treid the compression hose and found it helpful.I also tried physiotherapy to strenthen my leg muscles, which has help alot. But i still have pots symptoms everyday and faint about once a week. But hopefully things will get better.Take care.

  6. Hi

i was just wondering if anyone had 'episodes' where they get tachycardia and dizzy and feel like they are going to faint. It lasts about 15 minutes then im fine just abit tired. And it goes on like that all through the day.It doesnt matter whether im standing up or laying down.Is this what POTS is.Sorry nobodys really explained it to me i've had to learn myself, probably like so many others.I hope i dont sound stupid.h x
