  1. i have never been on BC, maybe i am not ovulating regularly. i have had one miscarriage.
  2. thyroid levels are all normal. and thank you
  3. for all of you POTS out there...do you or did you suffer from fertility problems. my husband and i have been trying for two years...i know i need to see a fertility expert, but i am just curious if i am in this boat alone. any tips?
  4. thank you i will check it out. my doctor is sending me to ucsf neurology for further evaluation.
  5. i seen a new neurologist today and he said i have POTS (already diagnosed), idiopathic progressive polyneuropathy, autonomic dysfunction and complicated shy drager like syndrome without parkinson symptoms. i am really confused right now....has anyone else been told or have had shy drager brought up. also he asked my if my cardio mentioned anything about a pacemaker.... i have a eeg and and emg on thursday, and also had some lab work done today. he also said i have absent deep tendon reflexes. im not liking the things that i am reading about shy drager or MSA. anyone else experience this with a doctor? he said i have a "very unfortunate disease".
  6. i have been having that same problem. i literally bottom out 71/43 (my old norm was 90/60). i start to feel bad around 6 or 7pm. position doesn't matter. i get extremely nauseated then i know im bottoming out. it is so strange that u say this because i have been telling my doctor and now i am on 10mg tid. i swear it causes rebound hypotension, at least with my body. and i dont notice an increase in bp whatsoever. it wont read either for me when i stand. wow i feel like we are the same person. and a lot of the times i get an error even sitting or lying from being too low. one night i layed in bed for 1 hour with my feet elevated and it finally read 70/41. do you have any other symptoms...are you aware when your bp is low. sometimes i feel like i am floating its the weirdest thing, almost like an out of body experience except with nausea, feeling like crap and also feel sob and a panicky suffocation feeling as well.
  7. im sorry. tx means treatment. and it has been the most amazing drug for me, i also was on lexapro but had some not so great side effects, then switched to wellbutrin. i wouldnt want to know how i would be right now off it...i know it has given me tons of energy before, and im sure still now, even though i am fatigued and tired, im sure i am a lot better than i would be without out it now.
  8. i was originally started on wellbutrin xl for depression with my initial dose 150 that was increased to 300mg and now i am on 450mg everyday then was diagnosed with POTS much later. i was surprised to hear that it is also a tx for POTS. has anyone been started on this medication after they were diagnosed with POTS?
  9. i have been on midodrine for about a couple of months now first 5mg bid, then 5mg tid, but now i find that it isn't working and my bp is consistently super low, i have a call into my doc to get it increased hoping 10mg tid.
  10. lol. i know what you mean. that is what i have been doing...it is extremely frustrating when you are at your doc apt and cant remember a symptom that you wanted to tell them, or something important but cant remember. i also have difficulty finding words mid sentence, or forget familiar names and directions. does that happen to you?
  11. is anyone else having severe memory problems, i am talking more than "brain fog", i literally couldn't even tell you what i did yesterday... if so, any suggestions, did you try any treatments, was this POTS related? my doctor tells me this is not POTS related and it is something neuro going on...
  12. i have never had a problem with muscle atrophy and i have been wearing them for the past five years for 12 hours a day as a registered nurse. i will say that i have been having bp probs really low (70/40) and compression socks seem to make me at least mobile without passing out. i am not aware that compression socks cause atrophy, however if you are immobile and wearing compression socks, then some atrophy will happen, not from the socks but rather from the lack of use of leg muscles. if you are bed bound or unable to walk most of the time i suggest range of motion exercises...i.e ankle pumps (move your foot up and down as if pushing down or letting up on a gas pedal in a car.) leg exercises include quad sets (lie on your back with your legs straight and toes pointed toward the ceiling. tighten your thigh muscles...hold for 5 seconds and release. then place a rolled towel under your knee, straighten your knee and leg and hold for 5 seconds and then release.) hip and knee bending (bring your leg in toward your chest, bending the knee and hip then back straight) of course check with your physician and make sure the exercises are appropriate. i know these especially have helped me during my "bed" days. compression socks are made to increase blood circulation, if you are still having low bp probs i would consult your physician. when my bp is low i elevate my legs above my heart while lying flat, and it raises it. good luck!
  13. ya i know...prior to starting midodrine my bp was 90/60...since my doc increased my dose from 5mg bid to 5mg tid, i have been having extremely low bp 71/43. its really strange, and my doc is baffled by it as well cause his plan was to start me on inderal la for my tachycardia...needless to say...that wont be happening.
  14. is anyone having problems with rebound hypotension?
