  1. Probably alot has to do with what type and why you have the nervous system problems. Vanderbuilt is doing research now on the effect of estrogen on the autonomic nervous system... and why some women do seem to get better after menopause.... seems estrogen acts as a vasodilator till menopause and then afterwards acts as a vasoconstrictor. My high pulse, low blood pressure seems to get better with vasoconstrictor "midodrine" (until my body adjusts to it)... so I am hoping that I will improve after I am done with my periods...(now 48) I was excited to hear about their ongoing study so I called a friend (it had been quite a few years since we had talked)that also had the same problems of fatigue/ dizziness on standing etc..and she said "yes, She has definetely gotten much better in last years... she is now 55 and said she can't remember last time she woke up tired.... I can't remember last time I woke up not tired and live most every day in exhausted state --- so this gave me hope. I "came" down with POTS after my second pregnancy 19 plus years ago. Maybe hormone changes will help some of us.... maybe new meds will help some... or maybe we will all just continue to live our lifes tired , one day at a time... enjoying what we can and trying to see the good in all our struggles! My periods have gotten irregular last 6 months so I guess I might be winding down.. haven't notice any benefit or worsening yet....
