Heartwillforever
I've been checking my blood pressure lately and I just don't understand if the readings are normal for whatI am feeling or not. I have been trying to find out why I've been fainting and feeling dizzy so much so I thought it might helpthe doctor if I write the readings down a few times a day with my symptoms. Today after a few minutes of sitting it was120/70 My HR was 110. When I stood up It was 144/90 My Hr was 156. I felt really dizzy but there was no drop in BP.Does anyone know if your BP had to drop for someone to faint? After a few minutes of standing I tryed it again and my BP was128/85 My HR was 160. Not much of a drop. I'm pretty confused on all of this!!
jjpots
I've noticed that sometimes I will have symptoms (not fainting though) and my bp and pulse won't be that off so I don't understand it either. I always thought that there would be a drop in bp when dizzy or fainting.Hope you can get some info on that. I know it's frustrating not having answers.JJH

persephone
I was like you- confused as normal cuffs made it look like I had no drop in bp. Then I had a tilt test where they were able to moniutor my bp continuously, with every pulse beat- they discovered that my bp was flatlining quite transiently (less than say 20 seconds) and then rising again- but this is of course too quick for a regular bp cuff to pick up- all those monitors pick up are the overshoot that comes later where bp goes sky high to compensate.Have you had a tilt. You sound like you need one with more specialised equipment than regular gps have.
