fitnesskelly
Finally trying Midodrine "as needed" for symptoms. What should I expect (side effects, how long I have to take it before it has an effect, etc.)?So far, I've tried it the last 2 days (just one 2.5mg dose a day) and haven't noticed much difference. Today symptoms are minimal, so I'm going without.
Guest ANCY
Midodrine has a very short half life so is only effective for a short time. I take 10 MG 5 x a day with each dose lasting about 3 hours. I do get headaches frequently from the midodrine also there can be a skin crawling/scalp itch which is pretty common. Hope you can find what works for you!
fitnesskelly
One thing I've noticed that I think may be a side effect for me is that I feel jittery and nauseous 4 hours after taking it. Since it has a very short half life, I'm assuming that this side effects is the midodrine starting to wear off in my system?
Guest ANCY
I did occasionally experience similar symptoms when the midodrine was wearing off. After taking it for several months I no longer had/have this problem. I belive for me it was because as the midodrine wore off my BP would start to fall. stellaluna
Jittery nauseous....5 times per day? Ugh... Can there just be an easy magic fix to this with no side effects please!!!
Nicola
Midodrine helps me a lot, more than any other drug so far but I notice it becomes less effective the longer you use it. I take it on a schedule and it seems to prevent symptoms for its duration. Also drink lots of fluids!
Guest ANCY
It increases Blood Pressure through vasoconstriction. Ideal for those who need a short term help with BP. I use florinef for BP as well.
