looneymom
This medication is used to treat CRPS, and allydonia. I found a few articles on treatment for this type of neuropathy pain. Tyler started taking the Namenda today. Studies look promising.Tyler is also being checked for NMDAR antibodies. Testing should be back in 14 days. He is maintaining on the plasmapharisis but his headache, scalp pain and tremors are not any less. However, he is staying well, gaining strength, and no hoarse voice.http://paindr.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/Opioid-Nerve-Pain_Fudin-ZORN.pdfhttp://www.rsds.org/pdfsall/Sinis_Birbaumer_Gustin.pdfhttp://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2762361/
Katybug
I truly pray that Tyler finds relief in one or all of these treatments. And I am always reminded how lucky he is to have a mom like you. Take care.
looneymom
Thanks katybug. Our doctor is really trying and thinking out of the box with Tyler's condition. We hope the NMDAR antibodies are not present but they can occur and cause a movement disorder without encephalities. These things have been known to show up after flu viruses or bacterial infections. I suspected this after I found a few articles online. Here is an abstract I sent to our doctor. After reading the whole article, he decided that testing was necessary.http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24127856
