looneymom
I have been researching and have came across many articles on this subject that might indicate a connection to POTS. So I thought I might need to start sharing them. Several weeks back, I made a post on Pandas in Adults and I will repost those articles again. CANS is known to affect adults. PANS and PANDAS starts before puberty. However, no research indicates that children definitely outgrow this syndrome. For this to happen the child's immune system must mature. So if this does not happen, does this mean you stay sick the rest of your life with an autoimmune disease? What has really caught my attention is what doctors are looking at and how it is connected to CANS/PANS/PANDAS. When trying to make a diagnosis, some doctors are looking at mast cell, hormone levels, the gut and so much more. All this information has really overwhelmed me and made me think about all the symptoms that have been mentioned on this forum. Here are the articles I found and hope they will help someone else.Rachel http://mindd.org/s/uploads/public_members/pdfs/2ImmunologicalDiseaseAutism.pdfhttp://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/attention-please/201107/evil-pandas-part-ii-adult-affliction-treatmenthttp://beverlyhillsshrink.blogspot.com/2012/03/adult-pandas-bare-facts.htmlhttp://pandasparentsmeeting.blogspot.com/http://www.cpementalhealth.com/content/4/1/13http://www.autismcanada.org/conference/pdfs/presentations/Smith_PANDAS.pdfhttp://intramural.nimh.nih.gov/pdn/web.htmhttp://www.moleculera.com/research/http://www.uchospitals.edu/pdf/uch_007935.pdfhttp://pandasnetwork.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/PANDAS_talk_April_18_2012_Sunjya_Schweig_MD.pdf
