janiedelite Posted March 29, 2011 Report Share Posted March 29, 2011 The doc I'm seeing thinks that the mestinon should help me because it's been shown to be helpful for those of us with hyperadrenergic POTS. I tried it a few years ago and was up to 180mg/day when I had to stop because of surges of high BP (180's/110's), and chest pain with elevated troponin. But at my Dr's appt yesterday, she felt I should see if it would be helpful now that 18 months have passed. So I got home and took 30mg and for the next 7 hours had higher BP (140's/80's), chest pain, headache and horrible fatigue. Knowing it was the mestinon, I just waited it out.Why does this happen?
