My EP did not recommend ablation as he feels the afib is caused by the autonomic dysfunction. I was having afib attacks every week until I finally found a dysautonomia cardiologist who started me in Cozaar and Clonidine. I’ve been afib free for six months since then.

I know exactly what you mean! I also use the analogy of a bike not being able to find the right gear when explaining how my heart feels,

My integrative doctor suggested trying supplements to increase Nitric Oxide. I took his advice and saw good results. My only issue is my GI doesn’t like some of the supplements.
Has anyone had a similar experience?

I was going into afib about every four weeks until I stated the Clonidine. It had been a great improvement to my quality of life.

I’m taking Cozaar to treat BP spikes and Clonidine patch to control adrenaline. Seems to be working. Beta blockers and calcium channel blockers made the ectopics worse,

Does anyone else experience afib caused by dysautonomia? I was incorrectly diagnosed with paroxysmal afib until my doctor connected the dots and referred me to a dysautonomia cardiac doc. Wondering if I’m the exception?

@Berry GirlI’m on .1 patch since October. My only complaint is the patch doesn’t seem to cover the full 7 days. I sometimes get adrenaline spikes around day 7. I would talk to your doctor for sure. And please don’t just remove the patch. I made that mistake and within a day was having horrible rebound symptoms.

We’re you able to get a machine and try it out?

I am 54 and my symptoms spiked at menopause. Progesterone really helps me adrenaline. I also take very small amounts of estrogen and testosterone but each time u tried to increase my symptoms got worse. Have a full sex hormone panel. Progesterone can be taken alone. I take a BHRT troche.

Thanks! Hopefully they take me. My referring doctor checked for the mitochondrial problems already. Something bad is going on, that’s all we know. My left ventricle is dilated and I have scarring/inflammation in my heart now as well. I just keep getting worse, and it doesn’t really fit any particular disease (unless it’s sarcoidosis which we will check in January).
I have the exact heart issues. How are the checking for sarcoidosis?

I use 5mg long acting melatonin, L-theonine, valerian, magnesium, vitamin D, and low dose naltrexone. Take at bedtime and my sleep has greatly improved. All recommended by my doc. Also, Clonidine .1 for the adrenaline rushes. I have seen good results,
Adrenaline surges at night while falling asleep.

I agree. Quality of life is most important to me.
