  1. So I have been having trouble breathing and my doc says since I failed the peak flow meter I might have asthma. I am going for a cat scan of my lungs tomorrow. She gave me an albuteral inhaler for when I need it but I am also on a beta blocker. She told me not to worry about it but I am.I didn't think you could mix the 2 meds?? Also, what is it with this dizziness?? Is there anything I can do for it. I am wearing an event monitor and so far all that has shown up is some PVC's but nothing serious. My doc says my dizziness may be caused by the beta blocker but I don't think so I have been on it for over 2 months. One more thing.....sometimes like this morning I can't get out of bed. I am just exhausted!!!!!!! anyone else have advice on any of this???

  2. I am on a beta blocker 50mg and anti anxiety meds but today was a bad day. I had 3 episodes where I felt a heavy chest, felt like I couldn't breath and then about 30 min later my heart would skip a beat then feel like it took a few beats to get back in rythem. I called my cardio and again was told not to worry. Does anyone have any advice for this.

  3. I totally understand how you feel. I too am new to this. Read my posting "trying to get a handle on this" I have good days and bad. Today a good day so far but last night was just awful. My husband doen't understand any of this. His mom has MS and he understands that but he still thinks all this is in my head. Those out there who have dealt with this for awhile correct me if I'm wrong but I don't thinkyou just get over POTS. You just learn to live with it. I wish there were a support group in my area that is what I need right now. Are you on any meds?? I am on a beta blocker and it seems to help. I have also been taking the salt tabs and they really have made a difference. I do notice I cannot handle stress AT ALL!!! I will have a panic attack at the slighest thing. I really try to stay busy and ignore the symptoms the best I can. Don't know if I have helped at all but if you would like I can give you my email address and we can email since were both new to this???

  4. So I know the beta blocker is suppose to slow your heart rate but now i'm freaking out that it is running somewhere between 60-66 when i am sitting around. This is so different for me since my HR is usually about 80-90. Does anyone else know what I mean?? :D I get so worried and I want to thank all of you for being understanding :) I am sorry to keep asking so many questions. Also, does anyone know if you can make your heart skip beats?? I mean can stress or just thinking about them bring them on???

  5. OK, so I have been to the ER 16 times in 3 months with all the symptoms of POTS. Finally diagnosed last week and I still can't get a hold on this. Today I was sitting at the computer and stood up and had a cramp on the left side of my chest and at the same time felt like I was going to pass out. I am ok now but I cried after this episode.Got all ready to go to the ER again but taked myself out of it. I was just there a week ago and saw Cardio on Monday. I was doing so much better today until this cramp thing and now I do still feel dizzy and out of sorts. Can someone tell me how they get through all this without running to the ER every time you feel bad????

  6. Driving today I felt a rush of dizziness and then felt like I was going to pass out. Took my pulse which seemed very slow and then it like caught up to itself. Called my cardio and he said he thought it was a vagel episode and it was probably because my blood pressure dropped and it was 1pm and I hadn't eaten anything since 9am. Anyone experience this??? BTW--started the salt pills today:)

  7. I have just been diagnosed with POTS. I have all the symptoms. Dizziness, palps, low bp, tachycardia, chest pain, tired all the time. But I do have a question??? I know some of you say your heart rate rises when you stand. Mine goes up only sometimes when I am doing something small like walking up 10 stairs or walking in a store. This doesn't happen all the time just some times and it usually goes up to like 120-130. Anyone else have this?? I am on a beta blocker which helps but doesn't stop it totally!!! Also, do those salt pills really work?? My cardio gave me a script today and I don't know whether or not to take them??
