  1. I don't want to be negative, just honest.I have had POTS for 4 yrs.with no improvement.Mine came after an extensive lower back surgery and or an infection in the surgery site. No one seems to know for sure. I am 59 yrs.old and to most of you that sounds so old,but before the surg.I was a very young, very active, working full time 55 yr.old. I still have hope that that my condition will improve, but I don't think so(anything is possible). Wishing all of you the best,Pat
  2. My Dr. rx'd Zyrtek.to combat some side effects of an antibiotic,I took for bronchitis. The information I received with the medication, says you should not take if you take ambein and lopressor, which I do take.I called about ambein,he said take the Zyrtek for 7 days and don,t take the ambein,I did not read about the lopressor til now. Your experience with Zyrtek would be appreciated Pat

  20. Hi,first of all ,no reason to apologize,we all are looking for answers. I have had POTS for 4 yrs. and still don't get it. For me being dizzy and lightheaded is normal most of the time, sometimes are worse than others, but is never completely gone. There are of course meds. for the symptoms, but unless my symptoms are severe(and sometimes they are)I prefer not to take the meds. As far as for the the numbness, mine is usually right-sided. Take care,Hugs Pat
  21. Nausea is and has been one of my worst symptoms of POTS. I feel like the nausea is building overnight by morning I feel really sick.Sometimes when I get up and around and drink some water I feel a little better.Just wondering if anyone has this same problem, and if there is anything I can do to help it? Thanks Pat
  22. Hello Mary and welcome to the forum. I am afraid it is going to be a long summer, just these fews days of hot and humid weather has been really rough and makes me very symptomatic, before I had POTS ,I was able to tolerate the heat really well.
  23. I had the same experience,in March, when I was hospitalized for a cough and shortness of breath. Even after they elimated heart and lung problems,I was put on low sodium diet and I tried and tried to explain that I needed IV fluids,I was in for 3 days any never got any!!!! (I was also in the step down unit). It reminded me of "you can't teach an old dog new tricks". Pat
  24. I am thrilled for you, best of luck, hugs Pat
  25. Angela,I had a nuclear stress test(did not go on the treadmill)a medication injected simulates the exercise. I even found that exhausting.I was at the hospital for at least 4 hrs. Maybe an otherwise healthy, could and would go to work. My opinion is give yourself a break. Good Luck to you, let us know the outcome. Hugs Pat
