  1. Sounds like an allergic reaction to a medication??? White spots ......could they be hives??? Throat constricting....is also sign of allergy. If I were you I'd go to see a doctor, ASAP. You might be allergic to one of your medications? Good luck...let us know what you find out
  2. I have a question about endometrial Ablation.....does anyone know how painful it might be after the procedure? I am thinking about having it done in the next couple of months, to end my periods, but am a little nervous about the discomfort afterward. Thanks Marli
  3. Hi, My doctor is encouraging me to have this procedure also and I'm so glad that you brought this subject up. I was told that most do not have any bleeding or only have a very light flow. My doctors wife had that procedure and she has not bled since. He also told my that all of his other patients that had it done have not had bleeding since. So that is not my concern.....I'm concerned with how much pain it might be after the ablation. Does anyone know how much pain is involved afterward??? Do you actually feel the burn afterward? Or is it more like cramping?? Thanks Marli
  4. So it doesn't hurt right now...it just feels like somethings getting pinched on and off? I get that now and then too. It feels like something is getting caught in your ribs?
  5. Yikes! I would go get this one checked out if it were me. Especially with chest pain radiating to your left arm and neck, plus feeling like you are totally wiped out. Hopefully its nothing....but it's better to be safe then sorry. Keep in touch and let us know how you are doing. Take Care, M
  6. Hello, This is my understanding. If it slows down the uptake of norepinephrine......that means when our adrenal glands puts out too much norepinephrine because we are hyperadrenergic........the receptors that receive it and put it too work in our nervous system dont take up as much as they would without Cymbalta.....this way we don't get the rush of norepinephrine that causes the fright/flight reaction. Does that make sense?
  7. Thanks everyone, I guess mine feels like the feeling you get for the first 10 minutes after a boat ride or carnival ride.
  8. That is Great news! I'll be excited to read your notes! Thanks!
  9. Thanks, I priinted it out too! I couldn't enlarge the mini-print.
  10. What are the sensations of lightheadedness that you all get? I feel like I've had a few drinks when I'm lightheaded...no spinning. Just feel like I need to sit down, and when I do it usually goes away. Unless I have eaten a meal....then I remain lightheaded unless I lay down. Thanks!
  11. I was put on a low dose of Atenolol (beta-blocker) Beta-blockers don't stop the adrenaline, but they block the receptors that accept it when an excessive amount is put out there by the adrenal gland. Thus stopping you from receiving the huge rush of adrenaline that makes the BP and P from going up.
  12. That's interesting, My symptoms began after my c-section too. Thanks for all your replies. I probably should go see the gynecologist and get an ultrasound to see whats going on.
  13. I was told I'm hyperadrenergic. My pulse goes up after about 20 minutes of standing/walking and that is when I feel lighheaded and have to sit down. My pulse usually goes up into the high 90's-low 100's. I was put on a very low dose of Atenolol (beta-blocker) Beta-blockers don't stop the adrenaline, but they block the receptors that accept it when an excessive amount is put out there by the adrenal gland. Thus stopping you from receiving the huge rush of adrenaline that makes the BP and P from going up. Good luck!
  14. Hi, I am newly diagnosed with POTS, although have been suffering from the symptoms since July 2005. I know that part of the reason we have the symptoms is that our blood vessels don't want to constrict and blood pools in the them. Do you gals have REAL HEAVY periods??? I'm wondering if this is another symptom caused by POTS, due to the vessels that don't want to constrict. Thanks.
  15. Hi All, I'm new here. I have been having problems with lightheadedness since July 2005. 7 Lonnnggg months now. I usually get lightheaded after being up standing/walking for about 20 minutes. And am REALLY lightheaded after eating a regular size meal for about an hour & sometimes more. If I continue doing what I'm doing when this happens I get somewhat short of breath. I feel like I'm 80 yrs old and am having a real hard time keeping up with my 2 active preschoolers ( I have an almost 2 yr old boy and a 3 1/2 year old boy). I was tested for pulmonary embolism, arrythmias, anemia. I had a coronary calcium scan to check for heart disease & had a score of 0, had a normal echocardiogram, my thyroid was low but is ok now on medication. I thought it was possibly my inner ears, but the ENT said it isn't, I was told it could possibly be due to anxiety, but I know that it isn't & the only anxiety I have is that they aren't finding the cause of my problem. Then I came across information on POTS and my symptoms fit exactly. What a RELIEF!!! So I brought the information I found to my doctor, and he had never heard of this !!??? My 30 day heart event monitor readings came back showing that I was tachycardic during my lightheaded episodes. And I have an appointment with a neurologist March 6th. A month from now. I have to travel 5 hours to see one. So anyway, my family physician prescribed Atenolol, which seemed to help some the first few days. I've only been on it for 5 days. But today I am real lightheaded even though I'm being treated. Does it take a while for it to help? I'm only on 12.5 mg/day. My BP and Pulse have been good all day during these spells. I have been drinking boullioun soup to add extra sodium to my diet. Normally my sodium is just below normal when I go in with symptoms. So....... what do you guys think? Does it sound like POTS? I"m so glad to have found this forum. (-: and I'm looking forward to getting to know you all! Thanks!
  16. Hi, I don't know if they make waterproof stockings. I wore mine at the beach this past summer. I know, it sounds like quite the sight ....but I have a DVT (blood clot) and had too. I just brought along a dry pair. If you have two pairs..... Wear yesterdays stockings in the shower, and suds them up after you take them off and hang them to dry & alternate each day. That way you'll have a fresh pair each day.
  17. Hi Lisa, This sounds like possible symptoms of a serious adverse reaction to the Zyprexa called Neuroleptic Malignant syndrome. It is something that can happen during the first 2 weeks of taking Zyprexa. I feel you should go to the ER or walk in clinic ASAP. Check the pharmacy handout that you received. It will tell you the symptoms to watch for ...or call the ER and speak with a nurse or doctor. Tell them everything you posted and they can give you advise on whether you should go in or not. Here is a website that explains it. Do you have a fever? http://www.ninds.nih.gov/disorders/neurole...ic_syndrome.htm Good luck!
