  1. Thank you for all the replies. I am going to be starting at 12.5mg.
  2. Powerade zero I'd not as sweet as Gatorade and is a favorite of mine. I too find Gatorade to be sweet tasting.
  3. I was only in for 2.5 days but I feel awful and lightheaded a lot since I have gotten out..
  4. I'm also drinking a powerade zero..maybe it is only in the regular drinks..?
  5. Thank you for all the replies! What dosages is everyone on? I'm just wondering how high of a dose I would need to be on to see benefits. I am going to be taking Zoloft..
  6. I didn't see that particular ingredient on my powerade label..?
  7. Just curious who has benefitted from taking an ssri. Also, what symptoms have improved while on ssri?
  8. When over tired, does anyone have dizziness get worse just when you're about to fall asleep?
  9. I'm also experiencing a drop in blood pressure without a change in heart rate. Have you found any answers?
  10. Hi guys, just wondering for those of you who have been in the hospital with POTS how long it took you to feel sturdy after being in bed for a few days. I feel weak, tachy, and lightheaded :0(
  11. Just wanted to chime in that you should keep looking for a dr who is interested in helping you, don't give up. I have a cardiologist near my homeowner who isn't very familiar with POTS but does a lot of research to try and find treatments to help me. He isn't my primary dr for POTS but he stays in contact with all my treating physicians, including my primary care dr.
  12. Thank you for all your replies. I feel safest at home, however, I always make sure I am near a hospital or close to fire dept should anything happen. I am going back on Zoloft, because I can't deal with POTS and anxiety. Maybe if I treat my anxiety the POTS will calm down..? Again, I really appreciate your replies. I know you guys understand what I'm going through )
  13. Thank you for your reply! I have seen a therapist for 6 years; I've had POTS for 9 years. I am thinking about going back on Zoloft bc my anxiety has made me ALOT worse. Some dr have said that SSRIs may help with Bp and heart rate problems. I am on Ativan .5mg twice a day so I can leave for a few hours at a time, if its a good day...
  14. Which hospital did you get testing at?? Please message me the dr you saw in Boston. I have seen a few doctors in Boston and am wondering if you saw the same person!
  15. Just wondering if anyone else has severe anxiety about being away from home...? I am always worried that I am going to get severely dizzy when I am out and it has really affected me. I have never passed out and I try to remind myself of that, but I still worry. Then of course the anxiety makes my symptoms worse. I guess I am wondering what everyone who experiences this does to cope.
  16. Hi guys, I'm in for long term EEG monitoring because I have been having spells of dizziness as well as waking up covered in sweat with fast heart rate and dizziness. I have had a few abnormal spike waves on EEG, but doctor said it's nothing that she would prescribe a seizure medication for. I have only been here for two days and one night, but she is going to try to get autonomic doctor in to see me. Does anyone else wake up dizzy, tachy, and sweating? I'm wondering what meds are left to try. My anxiety is sky high so I'm wondering if going back on an SSRI would help...?
  17. I always seem to wake up with tachy. Not sure if that is what wakes me up or not..morning are very symptomatic times for me.
  18. I have what are thought to be simple partial seizures. I have autonomic symptoms and am going to the hospital for long term EEG/EKG monitoring because my symptoms have gotten a lot worse, increasing my anxiety.
  19. Hi everyone, I found out the other day that my Bp went to 41/37 during my TTT, however my hr did not increase...does this make sense to anyone?
  20. I'm on .5 mg of ativan for anxiety, however I have found that it helps me breath better and I generally feel pretty good on it. Has anyone else had the same experience? In wondering if my dr can keep me in this for long term. I only take the .5 mg once a day so by the end of the day I don't feel that great, but this med sure does help me!
  21. TENS is a severe form of Steven Johnson Syndrome. It's a severe life threatening reaction. My mom got it from anticonvulsants, so I am very limited with what I can try.
  22. In the past I had an abnormal EEG and I am wondering why type of anti seizure meds people on this forum are on. My mom had TENS from two of the meds she was on (neurontin and depakote) so those are out of the question. Aside from abnormal EEG I suffer a weird abdominal feeling and near syncope. It feels like I am on an elevator going up and down or a roller coaster. I do suffer from migraines and anxiety so maybe these could be causing the symptoms too..?
  23. Hi everyone, I have noticed that digital light displays, such as the time/channel on the cable box or an alarm clock showing the time is hard for me to read. Does anyone else have this problem? The time looks blurry to me.
  24. Lightheadedness/dizziness-it's almost constant and is my most disabling symptom.
  25. Beta Blockers drop my Bp so low that I cannot tolerate them :0(
