  1. Hi Dana! welcome! I too just joined recently, and it's wonderful to have people here that understand what you are going through. I too feel fine in the morning but a few hours into things go down hill. I am in Beauty School and started doing 35 hours a week & now i'm lucky if i get in 6-10. I have not found anything that really helps with the dizzyness but i'm still looking. And the not sleeping well i have just learned to deal with, but the headaches for me have seemed to lessen because i was put on a motrin diet for other reasons but it has seemed to help. Most of it is normal in my opinion because i deal with it everyday.. but you should try to talk to your doctor to see if there are things you could be doing or taking to lessen some of the symptoms. I hope things get better for you! Hillary
  2. I'm sorry to hear about your grandfather. I know how it feels, I lost mine about a year and a half ago and it's tough. Luckily i was still relatively healthy. I can't imagine going through it sick and not to mention the other stuff going on in your life. But i give you alot of credit for staying so strong. You will be in my thoughts. I hope things will get easier for you. Good luck! Hillary
  3. Thanks for all of your advice. I really appreciate it. I'm going to contact the specialist i've been seeing in NYC, who prescribed me the meds and who has been dealing with POTS patients for a while, so maybe that will help. Thank you again! Hillary
  4. Hey everyone... For the last couple weeks i've noticed that my hair is falling out alot easier and in bigger quantities than ever before. But i've been ignoring it. But i just got out of the shower bawling because it came out handful after handful. It's not normal. It's funny... i've been taught how to cut/style people that are losing there hair and how to support them and be encouraging, but now that it's me i don't know what to do. I know it doesn't help but i just want to be done with this whole thing, like i'm sure all of us do. But this is def. my breaking point. I don't think i can deal with losing my hair! Sorry to complain and sorry it's long, but has anyone experienced this? Hillary
  5. I am actually on my second period of the month. The craps are horrible and i am actually spotting right now. I haven't had it for a full two months but i am def. irregular. And i am even on birth control to try to regulate it. I also have ovarian cysts so i know how all that goes. But i would def talk to the gyno. Well i hope that you feel better soon! Good luck! Hillary
  6. My sister actually had an ablation 1 year ago. She's 22 and they found two rare heart defects during her second labor. She had WPW and Epstines and she went through the ablation and is fine. Better than normal. She had a very high resting heart rate also and the only thing she said was that it felt like she didn't have a heart rate because she couldn't feel it all of hte time anymore. It just takes getting used to. But she is better htan ever and very grateful she had it down. Sorry this is late so late... but i hope it helps. Good luck! Hillary
  7. Hi I'm Hillary. I'm new to the forum and also somewhat new to the world of POTS. And i was wondering if anyone wears compression hose and if they actualy help. One of the doctors i saw in NYC suggested using them. I am in the process of trying to finish Beauty school and was wondering if they might be helpful so i can get my hours in and get my license. Thanks!
  8. Hi, I'm Hillary i just joined the forum. I was diagnosed with POTS earlier this year. But my symptoms have gotten a lot worse in the last month. And i have experienced the tingling feeling in select fingers. About two weeks ago actually i went to the ER because it started in my left finger and then spread up my arm, and through my face. The Dr. told me it had nothing to do with POTS, but he also didn't even know it was when i told him. I never found out what is was, but i do understand how you feel. I hope it gets better for you! Hillary
