  3. hi! ive had palpitations increase the last couple of days. Ive been searching the site on info about palpitations as its not something i deal with regularly. what i usually feel is my heart beat in my limbs or chest. sometimes i have missed beats and other times i have sinking feeling then a loud thump to my chest. this time ive been having more irregular beats....like a double beat...normal beats then maybe a skipped beat and a double beat again. the double beats can happen a few times a minute. hen ill have regular beating for a few minutes then it will start again. i guess im a little concerned. im going to call my cario but i doubt anyone will get back to me till next week. is this normal for pots? i had a 24 hour holter 1.5 years ago that was fine. and various ecgs last one probably 6 months ago. all ok. i guess i just want to know what your palpitations are like? is irregular beating considered a palpation? thanks guys

  6. ive been getting them after my meals today.....so annoying and a little scary... feeling your chest skink and miss a beat....or a new one for me a double beat!
  7. Hmmm. Theoretically, yes. "Exchange of bodily fluids" is the cause scientists are touting for now. However, the fluids I've seen listed are: semen, blood & breast milk- not urine....but you never know. Too weird about the leptospirosis. We're more influenced by those rodent critters than we realize . Yeah leptospirosis is the one thing that has been consistantly abnormal in my labs...i think the 2 tests were taken about 6 months apart. im not sure how to follow it up though as im not sure what it means.....does it mean there was some tupe of worm/bacteria thingy in my blood that looked like leptospirosis but not leptospirosis....plus its only meant to last 10 days and go away or get dramatically worse....ive kinda stayed the same level of sick going up and down over the last year and a half. im not even sure who i could follow it up with.
  8. no mice for me either, though some friends in high school kept mice as pets and bought them to school in their sleeeves.....but i was very very scared of mice and im sure didnt even attempt to pet them!!!! im wondering though can you get it from mice urine .... as i have tested equivical twice to leptospirosis, so neither positive or negative, doctors have not been concerned about it. while researching leptospirosis i came across how you should be careful drinking from cans or water bottles as you dont know where they have been stored and it would be easy for mice to pee on this and then you to drink it....so your lips and mouth making contact with the surface of the can or water bottle that was peed on....
  9. i think only 3% of healthy controls they tested, tested positive for the virus. not sure if it was that figure but it was under 10% for sure from what i remember reading.
  10. I have a real battle with my stomach. I have had issues with nausea and ingestion and reflux and loud stomach grumbles! I have had a normal gastric emptying, but tested positive to SIBO, which i have previously shared with the forum. Yesterday and today i feel wiped out...and with that my tummy troubles have escalated. No appetite. Not so much constant nausea, just nausea when trying to eat. My sister just made me dinner and put it next to me and MY stomach went nuts with noises and grumbles JUST looking at the food! Why is that? i havent even attempted to put it in my mouth and already my stomach is protesting. the only thing i have done really different is i started taking about 5mls of olive leaf extract once-twice a day for the last week or two (not sure exactly when as i didnt document it) also it was pretty hot yesterday 30degrees (which is about 86 Fahrenheit) though i was inside in air con for most of the day...i did sit out side for about half an hour in the morning when it wasnt too hot....just to get some sun and VIT D . For those of you who know SIBO do you think the olive leaf extract could have caused a revival of SIBO? Im so upset as ive been slowly getting better food wise and for the last few weeks (maybe 5 weeks) i havve bene able to eat 3 meals a day without feeling full or nauseated. I even ate some chocolate and lemon pudding! I hope this sorts it self out....thanks for the vent Im so sick of this but its not something you can say your done with an walk away unfortunatley
  11. I notice i drop things alot more. mobile phone, cups etc.
  12. YES .... I have not napped during the day since i got sick.....And beforei got sick i had trouble napping during the day unless i was mega tired and had been out and not slept the night before. Since i go sick i also hae not had a 'full' nights sleep.....constantly waking up in 2 hour intervals.....this would never happen before i got sick. before i got sick i had mild issues falling asleep but once i was asleep i was asleep for a full 8 hours!
  13. dont take them at the moment but getting some tomorrow...ill let you know in the next few weeks how it goes!
  14. yes..in australia also. have been there done the waiting....i think 9 hours was my record...my sister was with me...it was when i first got sick and she had no idea how sick i was.....she was going to kill me, oh well at least she could read....i could barely sit up even with my legs elevated on the chair in front of me!!! if you go by ambulance there in no wait. but i wont do that unless i was home alon or unless it was dire. the once that i did....collapsed, could not move without shaking, tachy not relaieved after hours of laing down. they took me in and in the end phych evaluated me....where the psych found that I WAS NOT anxious/depressed/somatising.....& they still didnt do anything about it except give me fluids and send me out in a wheel chair to the car. so know i havent been even when i feel awful...i just try to ride i out. next time i feel really awful i think im going to call my specialists for advice....hopefully this will happen during business hours! i never realised how useless ER's and hospitals are until i got sick....not the best time to have this realisation. And there is no DIAGNOSTIC DEPARTMENT as there is in HOUSE where they diagnose you! If they dont know, well you must not really be sick or you can go home. We all need Dr House and his team to get to the bottom of this! In my case there waas a 'general medicine' ward.....but the dr said i would want to admit you in there 'its full of old people'....yes those were his exact words. i was astonished..... sorry for venting on your post but im having an awful day with nausea and tummy (after regaining my appetite in the first time in well months and a year!) i just hope im not slipping cos if i am i really have no where else to go to seek treatment wise.

  20. Why do most people not know of POTS before it strikes them! We know of cancer and MS and Autoimmune illnesses and Diabetes and dementia and i could list 50 more. BUT.....no one knows of POTS or dysautonomia until they or someone they know is struck by it. Come on...its not THAT rare....we need to draw more awareness to this, its the only way that someday there might be a magic pill.....or a close to magic pill.
  21. welcome daphne! its good to hear that you will be seeing a pots specialist. what kind of treatment does dr. demerlier have you on? im just wondering if its something that aggravates pots so that might be making you worse.
