  1. Yes, I've read a bit about this and actually asked my dentist about it. Of course, he doesn't believe that we could get sick from our fillings. I used to know a "health food, health conscious" person that had all her fillings removed and replaced by some other "healthy" substance. She paid a lot of money to have this done and she said they don't last as long. After I heard that, I wasn't about to spend a lot of money redoing my teeth to find that I would have to cap them all anyway. Maybe we all are getting poisoned. I have A LOT of fillings. But what can I do? I'm not going to pull my teeth or cap them all. So, I try not to worry about it. I always figured that about 100 years from now they'll look at the way we live our lives now and say to themselves how DUMB we all are and how we all poisoned each other with the stuff in our environment. Who knows?
  2. THANKS FOR THE INFO, DAN. I'M GOING TO LOOK INTO THIS ONE FOR MYSELF.
  3. Thank you, Michelle. I didn't see the waist-high Jobst' on there, but I'll keep looking. Also, my doctor gave me a prescription, and it amazes me that at the pharmacy where I got my stockings, the price without a prescription was $110. I still don't know what they'll charge me if anything.
  4. Michelle, Are you stockings up to the waist? Are they 20-30 hg or 30-40 hg? What is the brand? My doctor said to get Jobst 30hg waist-high. But I didn't know whether that meant the 20-30 or the 30-40. Thanks.
  5. Congratulations on your new puppy. It's like having a baby in the house. I, too, just got a puppy about 1 1/2 years ago, a chihuahua. She was only 3 pounds at the time. She has grown into 5 pounds, her adult weight. She is definitely constant entertainment, and loves to love you. She and I take walks together around the neighborhood and everyone recognizes my doggie. I also have a geriatric (old) buff colored cocker spaniel who has the sweetest most loving and wonderful personality that a dog can have. I also have 3 cats who think I'm the "cat's meow". All in all they all look to me as their mama and keep me from getting to into myself and my infirmities. Again, congratulations! I sure your new baby thinks you're just fine the way you are and will love you no matter what.
  6. I've found this sometimes happens when you have a virus, as opposed to a bacterial infection.
  7. I think the tough part for everyone is that it is usually sugary foods that are the easiest to grab a hold of when you're hungry, and are the most available everywhere - like at ethansmom's house. Everyone, everywhere tends to give you sugary or junk food. It is so easy and so delicious. It doesn't bother other people. I think it's hard to figure out what to put in your mouth between meals that doesn't take too much fixing. Lately, I've been peeling and cutting up an apple for after a meal. I can't eat sugar on an empty stomach. That makes me feel really bad. That's why I eat the apple after dinner. As for other snacks, I still am trying to figure that one out.
  8. How do I control my cravings? I have found that a "little bit of sugar" for me is like a "little bit of alcohol" for an alcoholic. I just went through a 6 month period of basically eating anything I wanted. It was fun. I love sugar. But the weight did come on because of my lack of control, and feeling poorly. Now, today, I just went through a root canal procedure for a toothache. Toothache does not describe the pain I was in. The pain was unbearable, and worse. Anyway, the anesthesia is wearing off and the tooth is hurting again. Why am I telling you this? I honestly don't think I'm going to go near sugar again if I can help it. I now have the memory of dental pain in my mind to stop me. I know in my case it was all the sweets I was eating that ruined an existing filling. There's nothing like a little physical pain, and mental pain ($1500 for the tooth which I don't have) to discourage me from ever eating sweets again. And there youhave it.
  9. llp479, Are you sure that your doctor said that the decongestants make you worse because they dry you out? I thought it was the antihistamines that make you worse because they dry you out when you have congestion (and the congestion needs to stay "moist" so it can go out of your body)?
  10. It looks like stellakitty's daughter THINKS that the cardiologist will think she passed the TTT. She hasn't seen the cadioogist yet. I don't think she passed the test. I never passed out during the TTT. I just had symptoms that "normal" people do not get, starting almost immediately.
  11. I took only 1 zyrtec D and I was "speeding" - I mean I was very hyper and uncomfortable. I'm surprised anyone can take two. (I thought it was great as a decongestant. I could breathe well, but I felt hyped up, couldn't sleep, etc.)
