  1. I didn't read through all the posts, so I don't know if this was posted already...sorry if it was. Dysautonomia is a genetic and can be passed on, but that isn't always the case. Also, there is also a viral onset. Most of the people I know have the viral onset. Although, myself, cousin, mom, & aunt have genetic. My mother, cousin, & I either have some sort of syncope or POTS OR both....Which My cousin and I do have both (lucky draw...which is what I tell her ) We all have FMS and CFS. My grandmother has migraines with the rest of us. I'll just stop with that. We have a laundry list.... I always tell them we are a special family. My cousin is 12... I do know your fear...I have 2 boys. My sister has 2 girls and one on the way. Also go to www.dynakids.org....it's a dysautonomic form for kids and parents. I know they have a lot of info on how dysautonomia and how it affects kids. I haven't checked the main page recently...so they may have put different articles up. Take care!
  2. Hi Susan. I've been taking midodrine since 2003...Right before I started seeing Dr. Grubb. It has worked wonders for me. I do increase my dose on hot days which I have talked to the doc about. I also drink gatorade like crazy in the summer on hot days which does help. Also, don't take it after about 6pm....they don't like you to lay down with it in your system. Although, I did lay down and experianced the increased heart rates I could sit up if need be. I never found it too bothersome. And I did experiance the 'chills' the others were speaking of, but I always thought that they were more like ants or some bug....It wasn't as annoying as the real thing, but thats what it felt like to me. I'm sure it feels a little different to everyone. I wish you luck and take care! Keep us posted.
  3. Sonotec, Hi....I'm sorry about your friends. I know I find it hard to e-mail my online friends when I'm busy and then after I've been busy I feel like I've been hit by a mack truck. I try to send a little "hi" note so they don't feel like I totally forgot them. I also don't want to go into detail about how cruddy I feel. Who wants to hear that?!?!?! So, I usually just type a few lines about my week and then tell them I'll write when it slows down. I usually wait till I'm feeling better. I can't say what's going on with your friends, but feel free to e-mail me.
  4. Ok.....I have been thinking about this. 1-S-Adult 2-M- Adult 2-XL-Adult I may order more, but I'll wait to see if there is any avail. later. Thanks! ~Angela
