  1. Hi, I too have sensitive skin with those pads. I've also worn the 30 day monitors for a few months. You can ask for the children type which don't have the gel but they tend to fall off fast or what I have done too is pull off the goopy little pad they have over the adult electrode and wipe off whatever gel is around it and then stick it on. For me it has worked. I have had no problems with not getting a good reading or anything else plus I've saved myself of itching and blisters. Just a thought. Good luck.
  2. Mine does also and I do pretty much the same as the others, small meals, low carb/starches and drink water. I have particular trouble with certain canned soups, guessing it is addititives or the like in it.
  3. Hi Stacey, I wish I could find some comforting words to tell you right now. It's good that you let this out though. Hugs to you...
  4. I've been on Lexapro liquid for over a year now. I can't say that I have experienced that particular side effect while on it, but when I once went off it I had some sharp zinging pains in my head. I would ditto MM and discuss this with your doctor, and don't go off the med(s) w/o speaking to your dr. first.
  5. There are days when I think for sure I'm going senile. Go to the computer, sit down and forget what I was going to do. Words come out backwards etc. Then there are days when I'm sharp as a whip... Between allergies and perpetually stuffy head, forget about when I am really sick,,then I can't remember what I did an hour ago, seriously. Simple tasks I can't do. I play Brain Age on Nintendo DS, to try to help keep my brain from turning to mush. If I start to think about it too much, I really get myself in a tizzy and worry that I am losing it, but I come back
  6. I hate to see what age I am at. I watch Nick at Nite, Disney Channel, love to go the candy store with my kids and buy, buy, buy. I rough around with the cat, etc. I don't watch the news, don't read a newspaper, (except the sunday one sometimes, usually just for the ads! and the comics). I play brain age on their nintendo and my hubby and I bought them WII for this Xmas, (shhh, it's a secret) with all intentions that I am playing some of those games, can't wait! There are or course some who act like they are 10 in every way! But whose to say that keeping that kid alive inside(and you still are young) is wrong? You are dealing with an illness. I think it takes a lot of maturity to face that you are dealing with an illness. I personally don't want to be known as a 41yr old. You can call me what you want, just don't call me old or maam!!!
  7. I don't have the best willpower to eat that way. I try, but when it comes to sweets, I fail, miserably.. I shop Whole Foods, Trader Joes and try to keep pastas at low glycemic, whole wheat, and limit breads. I feel bloated if I eat fast food, too much grease. I take a powder called nanogreens10. I get it through my D.O. It's 10 servings of fruit of veggies in one scoop. Tastes good in cold water or juice, whatever. Has no preservatives, no gmo, dairy, wheat, egg, animal byproducts, etc. 100% vegan ingredients. It does give me some energy and I notice the difference when I don't take it regularly. Not cheap though. They do have a website and it lists the studies done on it too in case anyone is interested. www.nanogreens.com
  8. I don't know if that is what I have but I all of a sudden get a sharp, burning pain in my finger,(palm side) and I can see the vein is purple and I can't even touch it. It hurts for a few minutes then it starts to die down, but I can't touch it for quite a while and can take a day before it goes away. Not sure if it's the same, and I have no clue other than I do have raynauds phenomenon.
  9. Melissa, Gosh, what a rough patch you are going through. I hope this next round of antibiotics takes care of pneumonia, fevers and all. Please take care of yourself. Sending you the warmest well wishes!!!
  10. I used to take K-dur, large white pill. I'd dissolve it in water and sip through a straw. Not tasty but I got it in that way. Over the counter potassium only has 99mg in it and one would have to consult a dr. about taking more than that in a otc supplement.
  11. Nina, just checking in to see how you are feeling now? I've never had that but I've had what Tearose said. I've all of a sudden had bad pain in my finger, I thought my blood vessel or vein swelled. I get it every once in a while. I can't even touch the finger or fingers and it varies which one gets it), can't bend it or anything until it subsides. It turns purple too. Once or twice I by accident I hit my finger on the palm side of my hand where you can see the vein (well at least on me I can) and it stung and swelled and hurt like the dickens for days. Hope it's better.
  12. I take Emergen-C powdered Multi-Vitamin. It's strawberry flavored, add to water and sip/drink.
  13. I echo the rest, it sounds like your body had reached its limits and let you know. Hope you rest up this long weekend.
  14. I had an allergist I used to see and once I started the beta he allowed me to stay on the beta while getting shots. He watched me closely. I did that for years. When I switched allergists to one closer to me, he won't even try it all with me. I know it has to do with the chance of going into an crisis and needing the epi-pen, the beta would contradict the effect of the epi..and come to think of it, the epi would make us tachy too So I've not continued with shots. I honestly can't say wether the shots helped or not prior to starting my beta and during. So I take me allergy meds and that's where I stand.
  15. I take Lexapro, liquid. I do take a bit of a beta blocker also. I have found the lexapro to help.
  16. I'm very sad to hear that news. My thoughts and prayers to her husband, daughter and family. Too, too young.
  17. Keep your fins high.. sending you speedy recovery wishes.
  18. Here's a little more info on it about when it will be available and flavors. Thanks for the info. http://money.cnn.com/2007/09/07/news/compa...sion=2007090709
  19. Sorry you had to go through that but glad to hear everything went well. Speedy recovery
  20. Some great ideas gals, thanks so much! I'm looking into the nature sounds alarm clock and I set myself to get up 15min earlier, take my pill and hang in bed till 6:30 before I have to get up. Dawg Tired, well I don't have anything that fuzzy and nice to wake me up wish I did.
  21. Hi, Any of you have difficulty with the mornings? Now that school has started, officially today here,(have to get the kids off to school and now, me back to work also) having the alarm go off to wake me up was awful. I don't do well with alarms, not even music type, the adrenaline really shoots and my heart races. Then I take my beta blocker and have to wait for that to kick in before I can shower or stand for longer than just moving around otherwise heartrate is everywhere. Anyone have any ideas on a gentler way to wake up in the a.m.? Thanks..
  22. Sorry, I don't get them the same way as you do. Mine I usually feel from the pit of my stomach, through my chest, my head gets tight and loopy and I start teeth chattering/shivering. The weak knees and running to the toilet all usually come in during or after the surge has ended. I do know if it sets of the panic, it seems everything and everywhere can and does kick in. Not pleasant. I too, have come up low in potassium at times. More so after a few bouts of surges. I'm sure there are many different ways people feel them. I even sometimes think one can say that there weakest spot is where they notice it. For me, it's my stomach then the tightness in my esophagus/chest. I've had them happen while driving too, it kept me from driving any great distance for quite a while because I was worried it would happen again. I assume you have been worked up thoroughly and checked for pheo and other endocrine problems. I wish I had something more to offer other than support, but I don't. Hang in there.
  23. I too am about 96 or 97. When it hits 99 I usually do have something going on, and 100, well that's a good infection for me.
