  1. I've had the also, a lot in the past. I was checked by an endo for pheo and other endocrine disorders and came up negative. I used to panic a lot about them but over time I've learned to force myself to relax when I feel like that even though it can last off and on all day. (though I still get nervous)

Do you take anything for it? I find a little klonopin can help the feeling also.

  2. So sorry to hear that. I know it's rare, but you would think that would be something they could check for. A blood test and a cat scan could show something amiss. Years having it, ridiculous. It should have been caught sooner. Amazing how they can easily throw the diagnosis of panic attack out there.

Be keeping her in my thoughts.

  3. I'm now 42. Think I've had this off and on since I was about 17. It has waxed and waned over the years, different diagnosis but in 2004 I became worse. I mean new and forceful symptoms came on. Tachy seeming out of nowhere, exercise intolerance, foggy head, lightheaded and so on. I still wonder what the future holds. I have a husband who is good to me and understanding and 3 kids with which each one I had symptoms but not as bad as I was going to get later.

It's stinks to have to find the upside of this all, it sometimes is very hard to see but I do enjoy the days that I feel semi-normal. I've gotten past the point of wishing this all to go away, takes up even more energy. So I try to make the most of the semi-norm days, keep plugging along with work when I can and try not let it rob me of everything. If I gave up, it certainly would take everything else away.

I would try to not let it rob me of the thoughts of marriage and children. One step at a time. Even if your significant other has to hold you while you dance at your wedding for your song, for me at least, it would be better then never having tried to dance at all. :D

    Hang in there. :)

  4. Anyone else find it difficult to enjoy a dramatic or scary movie without feeling like you are actually in there running along side of them because your heart rate is right up there with them? I find now that just sitting and watching an intense movie or an action packed drama starts my adrenaline up into overdrive.

    Can't even enjoy that anymore.

There was an accident by my house earlier and just standing there looking at it,(nothing gory) my heart was racing and my teeth were chattering(in 79f weather too).

Can't watch my daughters soccer games, it gets to intense and my heartrate goes up. I've not learned how to not get caught up in it. Just can't sit there and relax. My son's baseball game is the same. I hate to not be able to go to any of them anymore so I try to pick to go the local games so I can go home but it is really becoming a big bummer.

Can't do the beach or pool for longer than an hour tops, the heat, even in the shade, starts up my adrenaline.

I can still do many things in moderation but just starting to notice more and more things that I can do less and less. *sigh*

Don't get me wrong, I love to see them do what they enjoy and will try to see what I can, but it takes everything out of me sometimes just to watch a movie with them and it's hard to tell them why I can't when I can't even explain it well myself.

Do you take extra meds and watch the movie/games anyway? I can't imagine going to an amusement park ride!

  5. I would check also about the difference in meds. I'm not sure about the metropolol, but not every beta is the same concentration at the same strength. While you may only need 12.5 of atenelol, in the metropolol or even something else you may need a different dosage, possibly less or more, once again depending on the med. I switched once from the atenelol to another beta, (forgot the name), I took 12.5 of the new one and I had higher hr than usual, a few days later it was still high, then I found out that I was supposed to take the whole dose because 12.5 of the old was not 12.5 of the new, it was actually more that I needed.

  6. What beautiful cats!!!! Funny I was just looking on the interent yesterday at breeds of cats. We just recently took in a stray kitten (about 4-5 months old). It's taken some time but she is finally coming out from hiding and getting used to all of us in the house. Now we are just waiting for her to venture upstairs to stay with us. She's only interested in staying in the basement and having everyone pet her under the dresser!

Congrats, those are some beautiful pixs!

  7. Hi Katherine,

Sorry for the late posting of well wishes. I really don't check out the other forums often. It sounds like he is well on the road to recovery and I wish you all well. I remember when my dad had emergency bypass surgery, came out of the blue, it's hard for the patient but it is certainly hard on the family too. It's a shock all around. You need to try to take care of yourself during this time also!

    Hugs to you and yours.

  8. I wish I could offer you more than to say sorry that you are going through this. :)

But on the other hand, as strange as it may sound, I'm glad you can vent to your ep, even though you feel bad for him, I imagine that he feels just as bad that he can't do more, especially when there are issues beyond his expertise.

Does your ep dr. know the gi doc? If not, is there someone he could recommend who at least is willing to walk along with you through this?

  9. Guess I'm lucky in that most vitamins don't bother me. I am low in Vit D so I take Vit D3 a supplement of 2000 IU 1x day. It's brought up my levels to a more near normal level. I'm very low in magnesium and taking supplements and even having IV mag has not pushed my levels up, so I don't know whether it's just a body thing, some things it takes and works and others not.

  10. Sorry to hear that. That stinks. So many loopholes for them, yet we can never find the loopholes. Can't figure that one out. Whatever you choose, to fight or walk away, do it because you know it's best for you and your situation. I'm glad you were offered another position. Please let us know what you decide.

    ;)

  11. Sorry to hear that, but to ease some of your concerns and bring some peace to your mind, can't you call back and speak to the doctor before your appointment? Maybe take a few minutes, write down some questions and call. Tell them that you were half asleep when the Dr. called and you have some questions/concerns that need to be addressed before your appt.,especially since it is not right away.

At least you will then have some time to do some research and get any other questions ready.

    Please let us know. :)

  12. Hi all,

After a long run of feeling not too bad, the bad came rolling on in. Since Friday I have a had a few episodes of adrenaline surges, tachycardia, the teeth chatters hit, running to the bathroom, etc. Outside of taking a bit more of beta blocker(I take 6.25mg 1x a day and when I have an episode I'll take another),,but taking just another bit when I have an episode leaves me so blah, tired, out of sorts,,just can't function, mental fatigue and muscular fatigue. Weather is no help either.

The tachycardia is tough and long to ride out without the beta so I usually break down and take it. It's been off and on for a few days so it's starting to take it's toll mentally and physically.

I'm starting to lose my rational part and I'm starting to think and worry all over the place.

Anyone have any tips or tricks or comfort things that help you get through it? (the symptoms)

BTW, anyone ever feel the surge as a heat sensation in your stomach and or(I'm afraid to even say it) the groin area and it spreads?
